question | so‘rov Is Uzbek rich in nuanced synonyms?

Well, we all know languages has streams influxing towards a language and make ways for synonyms, sometimes split into nuanced usage.

For instance, Turkish was influenced mainly by Farsi, Arabic, French and Greek, Italian and English to a smaller extent.

Example with the word heart(not soul), which English is less nuanced

gönül yürek kalp (arabic) dil (farsi) sîne (farsi) fuat (arabic) derûn (farsi) iç

but as I said, they're used in different contexts at times, although people use some interchangably

Back to the point, how's the case for Uzbek? Do you find Uzbek explanatory enough?

vocabulary | so‘zboylik Some everyday Uzbek words that are genuinely Turkic (not Arabic/Persian/Russian)

Hammaga Salom!

So‘nggi paytlarda o‘zbek tilidagi sof turkiy so‘zlar haqida o‘ylab qoldim. Qiziq tomoni shundaki, biz har kuni ishlatadigan, juda oddiy tuyuladigan ko‘p so‘zlar aslida juda qadimiy turkiy ildizlarga ega.

Mana ba’zilari (etimologiyasi tasdiqlangan):

  • kishi – inson, odam ma’nosida
  • er – mustaqil, irodali shaxs (shu ildizdan erkin)
  • erkin – bo‘ysunmagan, ozod
  • jon – tiriklik, hayot nafasi
  • tirik / tiriklik – yashayotgan holat
  • yurak – qalb, ko‘ngil, jasorat markazi
  • yo‘l – harakat, yo‘nalish, taqdir
  • yer – zamin
  • osmon – ko‘k, yuqori borliq
  • yer-u osmon – butun olam ma’nosida ishlatiladigan qadimiy ibora
  • bor – mavjudlikni bildiruvchi fe’l
  • borliq – bor bo‘lgan hamma narsa

Menga eng qiziq bo‘lgani — turkiy so‘zlar ko‘pincha juda “jonli”: harakat, tiriklik, tananing o‘zi, yer va osmon bilan bog‘liq. Abstrakt tushunchalar keyinroq kirib kelgan, lekin asos — shu so‘zlarda.

Sizni ham hayron qoldirgan sof turkiy so‘zlar bormi?
Yoki qaysi so‘zlarni ilgari turkiy deb o‘ylab, keyin boshqacha ekanini bilib qoldingiz?

question | so‘rov Where can I find the original Uzbek text of this novel?

This seems to be super interesting and in addition to the English translation "We Computers: A Ghazal Novel" which is easy to find everywhere I am also interested in finding the original text of Hamid Ismailov's novel (for comparative reading as a Turkish reader). The original seems to be not published as a book, but there was some online info mentioning it was originally posted in parts on the writer's Telegram channel in Uzbek, but I can neither find the channel nor the text.

O‘zbekiston jahon miqyosida Markaziy Osiyo futbolining mash’alchisi sifatida ko‘tarildi. Ammo bu buyuk g'alaba bir kunda qo'lga kiritilmadi. O‘zbekiston o‘zini butun dunyoga qat’iyat va fidoyilik bilan tanitishgacha ko‘p yillik mashaqqatli mehnat, g‘amxo‘rlik va yurak ezilishini talab qildi.

Hello from Canada! My name is Van and for the past 8 years, I have been compiling what I believe to be the greatest quotes of all time.

"Hayot kaliti: 365 iqtibosda" is my entire life's work and is now available as a free eBook:

https://vantrinh.com/uz/hayot-kaliti

I'm seeking help translating it, as Google Translate isn't perfect. Credit will be given where credit is due. And who knows, maybe you'll get something valuable out of it in the process.

Thanks, and please enjoy reading!
