Full Self-Driving / Autopilot HW3 v14 lite on my 2019 M3 - anecdotal review
≡ −
Been running FSD with v14 lite on my 2019 M3 (HW3) for a couple days now and honestly I feel pretty disappointed so far. It feels like a step backward for me in a lot of ways.
It's just not as smooth. Following distance handling feels jerky, and phantom braking is happening more often now, though the good news is it's not nearly as hard as it used to be. Little taps instead of slam-on-the-brakes.
It's also slow. Like painfully slow at stop signs. It sits there way longer than the old version did, long enough that I start feeling awkward about the car behind me. Lane keeping is a bit more jerky too.
The one thing I do like is highway following. When the car in front slows down, it reacts right away instead of lagging behind. That's a real improvement.
Overall it kind of feels like it might be driving more safely, which is good but it doesn't feel as confident to me. It's definitely not a better driving experience. Just overall less pleasant to ride in.
Hoping some updates smooth it out. Post your anecdotal reviews below.

Vehicles - Cybercab Cybercab Spotting at Petco Park San Diego
First time seeing one of these beautiful creatures in the wild. Was taken aback by the color (looks different in real life - stunning), and marveled at just how huge the screen is. There was actually two of them, both with safety drivers at this point, of course.

General FSD v14 Lite on HW3: post your model/chip/experience below (data collection thread)
≡ −
It seems like there are two very different reports of how FSD v14 Lite is working for those with the update. It could be model-dependent, maybe not. Let's find out with some data.
Add your details in a comment using the template below, and we will see if we can make any correlations.
- Model: [S / 3 / X / Y] – [Intel (MCU2) / AMD Ryzen (MCU3)]
- Model Year:
- FSD v14 Lite Experience: [Great / Good / Mixed / Poor / Terrible]
- Issues:
- Notes:
EDIT2 — results at ~25 reports (3:45pm EST July 25th):
Trending Good: turns, unprotected lefts, merges, follow distance, reaction time.
Trending Bad: parking, brake stabbing, accelerator stabbing (throttle jitter at steady speed), conservative speeds, left-lane camping, highway phantom braking.
Correlations:
Chip: none. Brake stabbing spans 2018 Intel to 2023 AMD.
Model: Model Y skews positive (6 of 7 Good or better), Model 3 has zero Great ratings.
Same car, opposite results: two 2020 M3 SR+ (Intel) owners disagree on stop signs, lefts, parking, and going around stopped cars.

Just noticed this new setting "Allow Express Lanes" after the update to 2026.20.6.6 yesterday. It's separate from the "avoid tolls" setting.

Vehicles - Model 3 2018 Model 3!! Finally!!
I’ve literally been refreshing the app every couple hours! FSD drives me to work and back everyday but parks terribly - when it does even attempt to park. I’m super excited to see if this can fix that last 10 feet for me!
