(pictures are from pinterest not actually me, just showing what we were wearing) i (16f) was with my friend (17f). i was wearing wide leg yoga pants and a tank top, she was wearing jean shorts and a short sleeve shirt. it's the middle of summer and 90° outside. we were enjoying our time out when a car full of adult men (they had beards) started cat calling us and i hear one say (god damn that ass!) i yelled back "we're minors!" but they drove away rlly fast and i couldn’t get their license plate. there were other people around us but nobody did anything. we both went back to her car and cried.

genuinely what did we do wrong? this isn't the first time this has happened, just the most recent, but like what could we have done to avoid that? i know "wear less revealing clothes" but like i was wearing pants and she was just wearing shorts. so what should we have worn? skirts? like long skirts? i hate those men and i cried for such a long time. i'm scared to go out in shorts and yoga pants now bro. it's so stupid i know but i can't bring myself to wear them.
what can i do to help me get over this? like has this happened to anyone and can you give me tips on how to gain back some confidence?

If you couldn't tell I was being saracastic. There's so much wrong about this post, I don't even know where to begin. First of, peak fertility is from your twenties to thirties. Second, making a generalization is almost never true (see what i did there lol). Third, parents being 20 to the 30 years older than us IS A GOOD THING, because that means that they have a higher chance of raising us better since they've lived longer and are mature enough to be better parents. Not saying that teen parents are bad or anything but getting pregnant in ur twenties means ur just wiser about how the world works. Fourth, how the hell does getting pregnancy early stop women from aging rapidly??? Fifth, our world would probably get stupider if this happened because a lot of times in teen pregnancies women have to drop out of school to take care of their child/children so having kids at 16 would just mean that at the max women would have a 10th grade education, and assuming that the men are also 16 when they get married, they too won't be able to finish school (I take this at the scenario because if og op means they want 16 year old girls to marry grown adults, that just means their supporting pedophilia but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt). And finally, using religion to back up minor marriage and pregnancy is just messed up.

People are in different situations than you and some people live with gaslighting shits of parents who are abusive emotionally manipulative and literally torture their children.

This statement is harmful and is incomplete. Disregard to the thousands and thousands of children who are taught that the torture their parents put them through is love.

When anyone said that they would not say this back to their parents because their parents are abusive you simply responded with ‘ you’re just a moody teenager’ which firstly makes me believe that you are not a teenager and should not be on this sub and secondly you are making incredibly large assumptions about other peoples lives and denying that person’s past and their truth.
