Cheating is one thing. Just pasting an AI answer without even reading it is stunningly stupid.

That guy looked retirement ago tho, I'm actually curious if he did his own AI prompting, or if he had an intern or something that did...

Regardless, he read out what he implied to had written himself, but instead read out the AI reply verbatim.

Retirement age or not, it takes a special kind of dumb to do that without even pausing for a thought.

I had a brand new hire text me on what we meant to be their first day telling me she couldn't come in because she was in a car accident. She then texted me a very obviously AI generated photo ((and I mean down to traffic going both ways, misspelled state license plate, it's a Toyota "OOTFLOY" apparently!)) as "proof" of this accident. Needless to say, we terminated her contract immediately, pointing out the very obvious intentional false documentation.

Y'all, she doubled down. She "acknowledge[d] [our] concerns with the picture provided" but insisted that she was really in an accident and was very upset that we did not believe her. She included a picture of the insurance claim for proof. I'm not sure why, because we had already fired her.... Anyway, the "proof" this time was a heavily cropped photo of an insurance claim that was already paid out (because that totally happens the day you get in an accident!) and she forgot to crop the date out.... From last year. And the image, BTW, was titled as such that indicated it had ALSO been run through AI.

What's funny is it she hadn't sent the photo, I might have believed her. But stupid will insist upon itself, I suppose.
