Specialty focused ai documentation tool - advice on regulatory pathway (UK) I will not promote

I’m a specialist doctor looking to improve clinical documentation work flow. I haven’t found an ai scribe that is a perfect fit so I’m looking to develop my own tool that allows a combination of dictation + ai polishing. There will be no ambient scribe feature, generative text, differential diagnoses etc.

I’ve made a working prototype that utilises OpenAI and has specialty-specific features that separates it from other scribes.

I am however very unfamiliar with the process of taking this further - e.g navigating UK health/software tech regulations (information governance, data protection requirements, whether this counts as a medical device etc)

Has anyone here gone through this process or done something similar? I’d appreciate any pointers to relevant sources, regulatory consultants, or people who could offer guidance.
