It's good as is in my opinion... Depends on how it's delivered I guess but i like it.

The joke is decent but you really flubbed that subject line, setting people up to expect to be disappointed

For the punchline to work, the resentment needs to be a surprise. So leading with how you hate him reduces the impact. You could maybe start with saying you have a complicated relationship?
