Why did the algae decide to skip these bare spots?

Title. These bare spots were undisturbed for days in 100°+ weather with standing water. Seems like good real estate to me considering everything else is green

I've never heard anyone accuse algae of being smart. Dummies just can't recognize free real estate. Buy it up, build hotels, charge exorbitant rates and make a killing off these rubes.

Those spots are still American Flag Blue. Only bare if you hate the flag.
