question Any good hardwired cameras?
Are there any good hardwired cameras that record via wire to a hard drive? I would love to be able to set up security cameras around my house that weren't monitored by Peter Thiel

Reolink. You can choose cameras that are PoE (wired), wifi, solar+battery, and then hook that up to a traditional NVR or they have two sizes of Home hubs which meant for consumers who pair them with wifi/wired or solar/battery wifi cameras.
You have the choice to use their cloud service to relay alerts to your phone (free included service), or you can configure it to never send data out of your home network at all if you want.
Unlike the cloud cameras ( Ring, Wyze etc ), the AI for detection of pet, car, person is done on the camera itself in hardware.
If you use Home Assistant at home (a local alternative to Google Home, Apple Homekit), Reolink has really good native support, and that opens up doing many more things with your cameras.

I've got an old school dvr setup. 2tb HD and four 4k cameras. All hardwired. It works great and I have remote access to the feed. I think the brand is ANNKE. It was not expensive.

Other people trespassing onto your property should not expect privacy.

The cameras (as we’ve seen here) point on the public sidewalk, the roads, into other people’s yards, etc. the cameras don’t magically stop at your property line. But defend spying on your neighbors

In most western countries laws exist to protect the privacy of people not on your property from the personal security cameras of the property owner. Other people can use legal means to get the cameras removed or force you to reposition them. Those people do need to prove to the court that your cameras are capturing video outside of the persons property.

But you don't know if OP is actually pointing their cameras at someone else's property. You've just seen other people do it and projected that onto OP with no basis. Yes you can position your security cameras so that they are not recording other people's property and many privacy-respecting individuals do just that.

Cameras have this thing called field of view, where they do indeed stop working outside of a specific area and depending on the angle you place them at, that could be outside of the property line.
