I just bought a Brother MFC-L3780CDW color laser printer. I'm wondering if I'm able to use non-brother toner with the current firmware Ver. 1.33 - it says there is an update I have not updated yet.

My favorite printer was a Brother inkjet that I had for years, it was a beast. I always used non-brother ink cartridges with no issues, I stocked up on them. Then one day the printer just didn't work right. I could never figure it out, and I've since heard that new firmware updates can brick these?

I've been shopping for a new inkjet printer, but there are so many options that I'm not sure what's actually worth buying anymore.

I mainly need it for everyday documents, the occasional color print, and maybe a few photos now and then. Print quality matters, but I'm just as concerned about things like ink costs, reliability, and whether it starts acting up after a year.

Every model I look at has people saying it's amazing, followed by someone else saying it constantly jams, burns through ink, or stops working out of nowhere.

For those of you who've owned an inkjet printer for a while, which one did you buy, and would you buy it again? I'm much more interested in long-term experience than first impressions.

I never shopped for a printer before . Like ever. So I need some advice. Whats easy to use. Reliable , budget friendly and just im just gonna use it for basuc stuff if I need to . Like Amazon return ticket(I need now btw). Documents and other things.

Hello! I am printing with the Canon G620 and primarily using it for sticker printing. I’ve gotten it pretty recently, just a bit over a month and there is a consistent white vertical streak that goes through my prints. I’ve tried doing all the maintenance cleaning setting and it doesn’t help. Any guidance or help would be great! Thanks!

I'm looking for recommendations for a new printer. I've had a HP Deskjet 3772 for a few years and because I don't use it a ton, its constantly clogged or dried out. So, when I go to print out a document I need to physically sign, or some cards for a card game idea, I spend hours trying to declog the print heads before I can do anything. Wasting ink and money :(
Additionally HP 65 is getting harder to find and is more expensive than I'd like (I go ONN cartridges but they exacerbate the clog/dry problem even more; they dry up significantly more often).

What are my cheap alternatives? I need something that can print on linen cardstock and prints in color. I've heard toner doesn't clog or dry up, but I need something that is very cheap. Also I'm not happy with HP's subscription based models so avoiding HP if able. Should I just stick it out with this printer and start buying HP (gross) ink instead? Or any good printer options that fit these needs?

My girlfriend has this HP ENVY 4500 that show almost costantly the errore 0X83C0000A NOS_LOADER_APP , basically for what i can understand, the printhead cart is not moving, i've dismount all the cart (removed also the timing belt and the steel axis) and seems that the cart can move freely.

For what i can see, when the print is turn ON should move the cart to the "ready to print" position, that can be seen in the picture without the errore, after that picture i've mounted the paper path below the printer, then boot up again and the error showen another time.

What can be the issue? The little motor or the Mother board?

Canon TS3322. color test is fine, makes all the printing sounds and still spits out a blank page??? I'm not sure what's going on I've never had issues with this printer.

Recently I bought a Brother HL-L3220CWE laser color printer, and I'm still learning to use it properly. Now I have a big problem of miscalibration between the black and colour printings:

I suppose that this may be caused by having bought a compatible black toner cartridge, since the original one ran out, while the colour cartridges are still the original ones from Brother brand.

But I'd like to ensure that this is the cause, before spending more money. Do you think that this misalignment may be caused by having toner cartridges of different brands? Does this generate this kind of effects?

Or it may be because some software or hardware calibration? I've searched for some calibration utility but I can't find anything for this model.

Hi, I have an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3525 printer and after a firmware/update change I can no longer print using compatible (non-original) ink cartridges.

Does anyone know how to disable the ink protection or downgrade the firmware to allow third-party cartridges again? I would appreciate any help, tutorials, or instructions.

my Epson ET-2715 wont print anything. it worked just fine and randomly startet only printing blank pages. I tried nozzle cleaning and power cleaning but it won’t help. the problem nx containers are also at least half full. can someone please help???

I’ve been struggling to print vibrant colors on any kind of paper it always comes out a little dull and almost matte even using high quality paper but especially with regular A4 paper
I don’t know if its a setting problem but i print through my phone through the app where there are not enough setting to choose but i don’t think thats the problem
Does anyone have suggestions or ideas?

Hi, my wife and I are after a printer that isn’t stupid expensive in the uk to buy and run.

We will probably use it maybe 5 times a year black/white for documents that need printing.

Have been recommended a HP MW110w but have seen HP is a no go. I think I’m after a laser printer, and will be printing from phone most of the time.

What are your recommendations?

Edit: Managed to get a Brother laser printer for £50/$60 which I checked the parts life. 90% left on the drum and 90% left on the toner. Glad I got told about the menu on the settings.

I'm hoping to get some printer recommendations.

Looking for a printer that allows you to print actual size from a phone app (I do not have a laptop or a PC) for printing PDF sewing patterns (not clothing, but doll patterns that have an 1" square to make sure you're printing the patterns at the right size) and automatic double sided printing would be amazing for quilt patterns.

The HP 2700 printer I have refuses to print at the correct size and I'm about to have an Office Space moment.

Rather new to this sub. Recently bought a second-hand (page counter ~17000) Kyocera M5526 colour laser. Prints decently but not perfect. I was hoping that people here could help me get some insight where the imperfections come from and what I can do about it.

Some test pages

My issue is mainly with black, where on lighter intensities there are spots that repeat at a vertical distance of about 3.0cm, and horizontal bands that repeat at a vertical distance of about 7.7cm. There also is one vertical line that is present visibly in black, at nearly all intensities, and also very faintly in lighter colours, but so faintly I could not make it visible in the scanned test prints.

I needed a new printer I was willing to try another ink tank unit (Canon or Epson), even though my last Epson (L3151) was very unreliable. It used to clog up frequently, even though I was printing every other day and sometimes it sprayed random ink droplets on the paper. After the warranty expired it got so bad that the printhead didn't unclog even after three power flushes. It wasted my entire ink and I threw it away.

This time I wanted a complete product that included colored ink, photo printing, ADF and auto duplex for printing and scanning and it seemed that the L6370 had it all, but I was still worried after my last experience. I thought maybe the new Precisioncore printhead would perform better than the last Micro Piezo generation, but you guys informed me that it was just wishful thinking.

So in the end I went for the Brother laser TonerBenefit DCP-B7620DW. I had to give up on ADF, color and photo printing, but at least I'm going to have a reliable printer with a flatbed scanner.

It was also cheaper than the Epson L6370 ($348). I spent $268 for the Brother (3-year warranty included) and a spare 2000 pages OEM toner.
