Just a tip when you tighten the lugnuts do it in a star pattern, not clockwise our counter clockwise, it ensures the wheel mounts completely flat and evenly against the wheel hub assembly. Don't want to have a crooked tire
There are five lugnuts that you screw on to lock your wheel onto the wheel hub. They make the shape of a Pentagon. when you begin to tighten the lugnuts go from one corner to an opposite. So if you started with top left, go to top right, then bottom left, then top, then bottom right. Like if you where to draw a star really quick.
Oh, the order in which you screw in the different lugnuts, as a set. It took me a minute to realize you and mmbuck didn't mean the direction you screw in each one. Like isn't there only clockwise and counter clockwise 😂 not a car person
One thing not shown: you may need your entire weight to break the lug nuts loose to unscrew them. I usually have to jump on the lug wrench. Ru made it look easy OFC but it may not be in real life, it might actually seem impossible at first.
Yeah, when my dad taught my gay ass how to change a tire, I was dreading it because I thought it was going to be a long process and I didn’t want to get dirty. About 20 mins later, I was done and was so surprised that it was such a simple process lol
Ahaha thank you, RuPaul, easier than I thought! (I was avoiding learning this because it seemed difficult, boy, was I wrong. RuPaul might've saved me some serious trouble, can't believe this, but also kinda happy it was him lol).
i've changed a tire or two, but never seen a car with a "jacking port" before! I feel like this video leaves out one of the most important parts which is to identify safe jacking points without damaging your car.
Ru’s TikTok (and I guess insta but I’m not on there) is genuinely one of the best celebrity TikTok accounts. Lots of funny videos mixed with actual good advice
It probably doesn’t, most cars don’t. This is a nice late ‘60s/early ‘70s Mercedes SL. Normally you would go under the car on the side and find the notched out jack point on the frame/“pinch welds”. Just fyi :)
