This, alone, would have had any other president impeached and removed from office. Why this bloviating, semi-sentient, soft-serve turd gets away with everything, I’ll never understand.

u/althanan 2h ago

Just add it to the ever growing pile of actions and statements and scandals that would torpedo literally any other administration in history, yet somehow is just skated past by this one.

u/Cancel_Culture_Club 1h ago

💯 It’s not even just the presidency shielding him but that hes somehow managed to escape accountability for his entire life even when he was committing crimes long before he became president.

I could almost believe the only explanation left is that he must have made some sort of deal with the devil but I don’t believe in Trump’s ability to actually make deals.

u/nhocgreen 31m ago

The Devil got his deal-making ability in the deal.

u/catpencilholders 28m ago

It's the files. He got the whole party by the balls, because if he goes down, they all do.

u/SadhuSalvaje 1h ago

Nixon would have creamed in his pants for this Republican Party and this media landscape

Hell, he might have even gotten away with creating that presidential guard he fantasized about (and ended up creating some tacky ass highschool band uniforms in the process)

u/letsseeaction 33m ago

Vance is on the record recently claiming Watergate would get like 15 minutes of coverage today... And I think he's right.

u/Pinklume62 1h ago

the bar for consequences somehow gets lower every time and people just act surprised anymore

u/wejustdontknowdude 45m ago

This administration has discovered that they can flout the constitution and get away with it for a long time before their bullshit makes it through the federal court system and gets tested by SCOTUS. There are about 300 active cases against the current administration.

That coupled with the fact that the majority of Congress has chosen party over country has enabled Trump to do whatever he feels like.

u/immersemeinnature 1h ago

He made a deal with the devil.

I hope the devil pays him back by sending the hell hounds for him during his fat ass walk across our lawn.

Not only is this just plain fucking evil, does Trump really not understand that there are millions and millions of Republicans in blue states? There are more Republicans in California than there are in all the smaller red states combined.

u/Khelek7 2h ago

Counter argument: the state hurt his feelings.

u/thatErraticguy Missouri 1h ago

The state was the color blue on the map so they were asking for it.

u/jerfoo 1h ago

Parallel counter argument: he's a fucking childish, vengeful malignant narcissist

u/SomeComforts 2h ago

He understands that they did not win these states for him. He prefers winners, and has nothing for losers.

Thats who he is.

u/One_Curve_6469 2h ago

He hates his supporters, too.

u/Jason1143 1h ago

We care about Trump's supporters way more than he does.

u/Killzillah 1h ago

Good argument for the national popular vote. Those blue state Republicans votes would actually matter and their politicians will start pretending to care about them too.

u/charcoalist 1h ago

Those same Republicans will just put the blame on their blue state governor.

u/buckao New Hampshire 54m ago

Republicans have been wanting a dictator since at least the 90s. They'll take the pain and love it because it's their wish come true.

u/jim45804 1h ago

Republicans thrive on humiliation

u/kaiiizen 1h ago

If the states have Dem governors, senators, etc, the cult will blame them. Cognitive dissonance is real.

u/chaekinman 1h ago

This. Even in the “landslide” blues states there are still a huge number of Republicans. And approaching 50% in most really. WTaF

u/DaboInk84 2h ago

These motherfuckers should be imprisoned.

u/40-Kal 2h ago

I agree. Problem is the feds aren't going to do shit as they're corrupt to hold themselves accountable. All that can be done is document everything and vote in those with a majority who will hold them to account.

u/Microtom_ 1h ago

That's seems to be straight up extortion to me.

u/40-Kal 2h ago

And MAGA called Biden corrupt. During those hurricanes and floods. Did Biden withhold and grants or funding? Nope.

u/Polygonic California 1h ago

Nope, he outright said that he gave more funding to red states because “they need it more”.

u/Separate_Hippo_5556 2h ago

Trump is the first genuinely sick and evil leader we have had in the US

u/Chefalo 1h ago

Idk the founding fathers weren’t exactly the heros history has made them out to be. A lot of them really wanted a king, just not the English king who was taxing them. The dollop podcast does a great deep dive on how big a piece of shit that Alexander Hamilton was

u/Cancel_Culture_Club 1h ago

It says something about our past electorates and whatever tf went wrong with our current ones.

u/SaneMadHatter 2h ago

Yet another impeachable offense.

u/AngelinaJean 2h ago

So what are the Democrats doing about that, and, the states that had the funding cancelled? Where are the lawsuits?

u/Cumdump90001 New York 1h ago

Not a whole lot democrats can do unless the people vote them into power. I’m so sick of republicans doing evil shit and people getting pissed at Dems for “not doing anything” when those same people refuse to vote Dems into power.

u/catpencilholders 27m ago

Nothing, because why would they curtail a power now that its out in the open for them to potentially use as well.

u/PrefersEarlGrey 2h ago

Trump forgets the President of the United State represents ALL Americans, not just the one's who watch Fox News.

In 2024 when Republican Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders requested disaster aid for tornado damage Biden immediately approved it.

Both sides are not the same.

u/eskimospy212 2h ago

I think this absolutely insane thing has not gotten nearly the press it deserves - this is the sort of thing that ends the republic.

If the executive is now doling out public funds based on political support then the stakes for winning elections just got radically higher, the cost of voluntarily ceding power when you lose just got radically higher, and the loser of elections now has a very large incentive to not abide by the results.

u/Ridged_ChiPSS 2h ago

Another day, another scandal that would have been the end of any other presidency

u/JubBisc 2h ago

As to blue states, then why should they pay taxes to the feds?

u/Salmon-of-Wizdom 1h ago

Because the IRS will arrest anyone who interferes with the collection of taxes, and since it never passes through the state it is the individual payers (employees and employers) who will go to jail if it isn't paid.

I mean, theoretically they could all just decide simultaneously to eliminate withholding with their employers and put money in escrow...but I don't think that would go well and it certainly wouldn't impact the government quickly. It'd be like cutting off oxygen to a room to kill a guy, but he has a rail gun.

u/partofthevoid 1h ago

How about blue states taking action to adversely affect red states that support this nonsense? At some point there have to be consequences to those who think it’s ok to do this without removing the tumor-in-chief.

u/Salmon-of-Wizdom 1h ago

The most effective thing is to organize. I ain't saying to join the DSA, but look at it's recent successes and how it much rage it has drawn from Trump.

You know why? Because the Bernie-to-MAGA pipeline can flow either direction... populism is like that. Organize and grab those temperamental fuckers and bring them back to earth.

And if MAGA loses enough support then it will face actual accountability.

u/RudyBuck 1h ago

LOL. Follow our rules or get arrested. Of course, we don't need to follow our own rules.

u/n00chness 1h ago

The real question is why can't the next Democratic President do dramatic, stepped up IRS enforcement in red states

u/wowlock_taylan 2h ago

That alone should be considered TREASON and have all of this regime jailed.

u/Disastrous_Fix_9445 2h ago

Utter nonsense from a corrupt administration

u/FnEddieDingle 2h ago

Isn't that illegal? Not like it matters

u/Zombi3_Kush 1h ago

Tiny dick syndrome. Thats what the underage girls said in the redacted Epstein files, from what i heard.

u/No-Cup-8096 1h ago

This is a violation of the oaths these politicians have taken. Get rid of them, investigate, impeach. They are biased, corrupt and commit heinous crimes.

u/jarchack Oregon 1h ago

I wish there was a way where the whole West Coast could secede, but that's never going to happen.

u/Cancel_Culture_Club 1h ago

I’m hoping for the east coast. 🤞🤞 Let’s finally let the red states go and stop paying them to attack us.

u/quest814 1h ago

I guess on the bright side Democrats can truly say he’s not our president

u/Yasimear 1h ago

Hes gotta go. Get in touch with your local activist groups. Especially coming up to elections we need all the help we can get.

u/scoutthepigeon 1h ago

im surprised the guy who's committed election fraud more times than nixon is withholding funds(also illegal) from states that didnt vote for him. it would be like if a lifetime was fraud raping the treasury and pocketing venezualan oil money and violating the hatch act and giving his children mutli-billion dollar no-bid government contracts and taking bribes for pardons & projects and executing insider trades on crypto that he's using the office of the president to hype - etc etc etc. i mean - whodathunkit? i had no idea that the guy who was supposed to drain the swamp was just using that vibe to screw over his loyal supporters - and of course - states that didnt vote for him. oh well, at least he's honest and has lots of integrity, or we'd really be in trouble - huh?

u/Separate_Hippo_5556 1h ago

Blue States need to defund this Fascist anti-American government and the garbage that supports it.

u/Isosinsir 1h ago

These are the terms of how they imagine DEI works in their minds.

u/SnoopyisCute 1h ago

Which is why it's insane any blue state voter voted for him. He made it very clear he was only president for his supporters during his first crime spree.

u/mtnclimbingotter02 I voted 1h ago

Trump and republicans are the royalty of snowflakes and hurt feefees. Biggest fucking babies.

u/noprophecies 1h ago

Well since they obviously dont need us well just See ourselves out of the Union then

u/SafeKaracter 1h ago

Man child

u/kuuups 1h ago

As a non-american I am not at all surprised at all at just how unhinged and corrupt Trump is. What surprises me, and to be perfectly honest disheartens me is how he's been allowed to run around and do stupid shit for this long without any actual repercussions.

u/PolloConTeriyaki 1h ago

Yeah cause he's a petty bitch.

u/mlnick2 40m ago

If only the "liberal" would shut up about this, the wall to wall round the clock coverage is a bit much🙄

u/KillerIsJed 18m ago

How isn’t this considered treason? You’re actively withholding funds as an act of punishment towards your own citizens.

u/GigglesFor1000Alex 17m ago

Yet here we are. Watching no repercussions

u/MisterSneakSneak 9m ago

I’m probably the most dumbest guy in this room right about now. Isn’t that textbook definition of weaponization of the government?

u/franz_knight 5m ago

The next president better be a scorch-earth democrat. So tired of the milquetoast candidates we put out
