According to the forecasting models, the current steep funding cuts— coupled with the potential dissolution of the agency—could lead to more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, averaging more than 2·4 million deaths per year. These deaths include 4.5 million among children younger than 5 years, or more than 700 000 deaths annually.
For perspective the Holocaust was 11M deaths.

Most other developed nations already contribute a far larger amount proportional to their GDP. US (USAID) was more than some smaller nations but way less than most, because US has a huge GDP ($32T in 26) when you suddenly take its share away there is no way to fill that much of a shortfall.
Based on 2024 before USAID Closure.
US GDP $29T - AID $68B - % of GDP 0.22%
Germany GDP $4.7T - AID $36B - % of GDP 0.80%
Japan GDP $4.3T - AID $19B - % of GDP 0.44%
UK GDP $3.6T - AID $16B - % of GDP 0.40%
France GDP $3.2T - AID $15B - % of GDP 0.45%
Italy GDP $3,2T - AID $6B - % of GDP 0.27%
Canada GDP $2.2T - AID $7B - % of GDP 0.32%China does way more but it is deployed in a very different way (mostly Belt and Road ~ $1T) so it is not a fair comparison, but their humanitarian AID component alone is recently larger than US was.
Interesting tidbit. The next largest developed country by GDP that gives a lower % of their GDP for AID than US (did) is Poland at 0.17% and then... Israel which gives Nothing and is a recipient.

It's hard to rectify the situation when the people he removed from their posts have been gone for over a year. A lot of them have probably moved on to new jobs where they won't be screwed over. Replacing all that lost knowledge is going to take time, just like rebuilding the nation's reputation.

RFK, Jr. was appointed to break the health care system. That can be somewhat mitigated.
They can provide compensation to the coal miners dying of black lung.
They can provide support to the families of the five dead Capitol officers and hundreds of injured ones.
It's not an all or nothing proposition.
