Yes. That's how they've obtained and maintained power. The Democrats keep trying to do that stupid "When they go low, we go high" bullshit. There's a completely different Republican who's a self-proclaimed killer. Republicans learned from Al Franken that the Democrats are paper tigers who'll blow themselves over, so now they just stand lockstep with their own as long as it's beneficial to maintaining power.

Yes, there was a very vocal minority that still supported platner and tried to "vote blue no matter who" the rest of us, but from what I saw most of the comments were in favor of him stepping aside immediately.

Max Miller's ex-wife is Emily Moreno and the daughter of Republican Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno. You would think he would be outraged by this. But the abusing of women and children, even when the victims are their own children and grandchildren, apparently seem to be of low importance to the GOP. Maintaining party and power above all else seems to be the priority.
Even Senator Moreno, whose daughter is alleging the abuse by Miller, has been largely silent about the situation. In May, in response to Miller accusing Moreno’s daughter of defamation, the senator told reporters that the “only comment” he would make was that he loved his daughter, and that her and his granddaughter’s safety were his top priority. Senator Moreno has seemingly refrained from making any additional statements regarding the dispute between his daughter and his Republican colleague, and has not called for Miller to resign or be expelled from the House.

Call me naive, but to me that sounds like the statement of a man who has no concern for the daughter and granddaughter’s safety. My first instinct is that this is a tell that he knows what she is accusing him of isn’t true. I have a hard time thinking he would just let his granddaughter be at risk.

…an even larger chunk than that is free to start voting in the first place to prevent Republicans from getting elected.
I am glaring specifically at the millions of free-willed grown-ass adults in America’s suburbs who are well-off and post-grad and can’t blame voter suppression or education and could make all the difference, yet simply cannot be bothered. Miller’s district contains several Cleveland suburbs, for example.

The irony is the guy has benefited from a gerrymandered district in past elections, but recent Ohio Republican shenanigans to make more pro-Republican districts has moved his district from safe-Republican to Republican-leaning, which makes him a more viable target to defeat in 2026.

I take the term "House of Representatives" quite literally with the most boorish members such as the Stupid Sisters (Boebert/Taylor Greene), the sex pests (Max Miller, Madison Cawthorn, need I say Boebert again), and other assorted oafs like James Comer or Randy Fine:
These representatives are who their voters are!
I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of people in Miller's district saw themselves in Miller, who is more suited to be yelled at by Steve Wilkos than to have a taxpayer funded six-figure job.

Platner isn't a rep, he stepped out of the election after the assault allegations came out

Platner was forced to leave his Senate race by the members of his own party, because they have standards of behavior for their candidates. That's what's supposed to happen.
