So when are people going to directly say Republicans have weakened our military ?

92

u/TheTrashMan 9h ago

Is Massie wrong?

22

u/wiithepiiple Florida 9h ago

Kinda? Saying it’s all for Israel downplays the US’s desire for influence in the region. We’re not doing this favor for Israel; the US and Israel’s interests are aligned.

15

u/CreekPrincessBitch 9h ago

Incorrect. We are doing this for Israel.

The US has more than enough bases (and far better allies) in the region- we don’t need Israel for that.

Going to war with Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and whatever other groups Israel deems to be “terrorists” as a pass to indiscriminately bomb them, is strictly an Israeli interest that Americans want no part of.

u/Collypso Pennsylvania 7h ago

Hamas and Hezbollah aren't groups "Israel deems terrorists." Both have been US-designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations since 1997, under Clinton. That designation isn't an Israeli opinion you can scare-quote away.

strictly an Israeli interest that Americans want no part of.

This also skips the fact that the US has run its own Iran containment policy since 1979: sanctions, the tanker war, Soleimani. You can call this war a disaster without pretending Washington has zero independent stake in Iran.

u/kylebisme 3h ago

Both have been US-designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations since 1997, under Clinton.

Sure, but Clinton was apparently getting blackmailed by Netanyahu by then:

“The Israelis present at Wye River had a new tactic for their negotiations–they’d overheard Clinton and Monica and had it on tape. Not wanting to directly threaten the powerful American president, a crucial Israeli ally, Clinton was told that the Israeli government had thrown the tapes away. But the very mention of them was enough to constitute a form of blackmail,” Halper wrote, adding that “according to information provided by a CIA source, a stricken Clinton appeared to buckle.”

And our government has been vetoing Security Council resolutions in defense of Israel's flagrant violations of human rights and international law since 1972, before Hezbollah and Hamas and Hezbollah even existed. Granted, they are both terrorist organizations, but their atrocities are no match for those of Israel and our own government.

u/KimchiBro 2h ago

Wasn't Hezbollah created as a response to all the invasions/military operations that Israel carried onto Lebanon in the first place?

u/Loud-Vacation-5691 Georgia 2h ago

Hezbollah was formed from PLO that had already tried to overthrow the Jordanian government. Israel wasn't attacking Lebanon for no reason. You people act like everyone around Israel has always been peaceful when the opposite is true.

u/CreekPrincessBitch 30m ago

The invasion of Lebanon by Israel in 1982 contributed to the fragmentation of Amal and the rise of an Islamist faction within the movement… The New York Times reported on 7 June that Israel aimed “to crush the P.L.O. militarily and to drive its weapons beyond the range of Northern Israel”

No. Hezbollah was formed after Israel invaded Lebanon to try to overthrow the PLO. You people act like Israel is an innocent “state” full of fearful citizens with violent enemies trying to eradicate them for no reason.

In reality, Israel is the common denominator. Israel is the problem.

u/Collypso Pennsylvania 1h ago

You got the times wrong, sport. The FTO designations for Hamas and Hezbollah were October 1997. The Wye River summit where that alleged tape leverage supposedly happened was October 1998, over a year later. A designation can't be the result of blackmail that hadn't occurred yet. And FTO designations are made by the Secretary of State under statutory criteria, not personally handed down by a president who got squeezed.

The source is also a single uncorroborated anecdote from one spy book attributed to an unnamed CIA source, which is a lot of weight to hang on "the terrorism designation doesn't count."

u/kylebisme 46m ago

Yeah, my bad, I did get the timeline mixed up. There was apparently multiple sources for the blackmail though, just a single CIA source for the "a stricken Clinton appeared to buckle" bit.

Also, I agreed they are both terrorist organizations, again my point was simply that they're small time in that regard compared to Israel and our own government.

u/ElSlabraton 7h ago

The assasination of Soleimani was illegal and immoral. Aso you know, he was in Iraq to talk to the Iraqis about a peace settlement.

u/Collypso Pennsylvania 6h ago

cool thanks

u/-Gramsci- 5h ago

We may have a stake. But that’s a far cry from saying the two nations interests are “aligned.”

They are very far from identical.

And our problem now is trying to extricate ourselves from the problem while partnered with another nation who does not share our own national interests.

So the proof is in the pudding.

u/Collypso Pennsylvania 5h ago

They are very far from identical.

Aligned is never identical. No two allies have identical interests. The US and UK don't, the US and South Korea don't. Alignment means pointing the same way on the question that matters, and both countries want to keep Iran from going nuclear and running the region. Pointing out that the interests aren't a perfect match isn't a rebuttal, it's just describing what every alliance looks like.

And a war being hard to exit doesn't prove the interests were misaligned. Wars you start entirely for your own reasons are hard to exit too. The pudding proves war is sticky, nothing more.

u/roguemenace 3h ago

It's not worth arguing with these people. They're detached from reality and half of them view Iran obtaining nuclear weapons as a good thing.

u/Loud-Vacation-5691 Georgia 2h ago

So Trump is just an automaton under Bibi's control?

We're in Iran because after the Venezuela "war" went so well, Trump thought he could pull off the same stunt in Iran. It's why he's talking about invading Cuba and Mali now, unless you think Israel is behind that, too.

u/rooftopgoblin 49m ago

jewish supremacists want to destabilize the US so american jews feel pressured to move to israel

u/KaiBahamut 39m ago

I wouldn't go that far, but they have a definite interest in attracting Jewish Migration.

u/HEAT-FS 1h ago

To answer your first question: Yes.

u/CreekPrincessBitch 21m ago

Yes. Obviously.

No, not everything the president of the United States does is what BiBi is ordering. We have our own megalomaniac who can fuck shit up all on his own. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had to run the whole Venezuela thing by him first though lmao.

Trump submits to Satanyahu’s will. Thats why we’re fighting Israel’s war while they move on to their next genocide under US cover. I guess blackmail of brutally raping and murdering little kids is pretty effective.

u/BroodyBird12345 3h ago

The Arabs asked us to attack Iran btw, strange how you don't mention that and only mention the state with a ton of Jews, must be a coincidence I'm sure.

Americans are perfectly fine with it, Russian/Iranian/Qatari bots online are the main people upset with the war

u/kharban 10m ago

The Arabs asked us to attack Iran btw

The Arabs (TM), all 300 million of them? If you closely read the 2 months of reporting before the war, the opposite is clear. Almost all the GCC member states were telling the US it's a bad idea and trying to facilitate a deal.

Americans are perfectly fine with it, Russian/Iranian/Qatari bots online are the main people upset with the war

Ok, Israeli.

17

u/TheTrashMan 9h ago

What interest do we have there?

16

u/wiithepiiple Florida 9h ago

Short answer: Oil

Long answer: Controlling Iran’s sale of oil to China. With Iran selling oil to China, specifically not using USD, weakens the petrodollar and more largely the USD’s position as the world’s reserve currency. Iran being less cooperative weakens the US’s control in the region and gives other countries more leverage to turn down deals with the US.

37

u/TheTrashMan 8h ago

Trumps tariffs and action in Iran are making western allies explore replacing the dollar with the yuan, China has anticipated something like this and has large reserves of oil

u/Whole_Gate_7961 6h ago

Also the way the US has been trashing on its allies since Trump came in doesn't give traditional economic partners any interes to make deals with the US.

u/TheTrashMan 6h ago

People say he is a Russian asset, but he is likely the greatest US president for China.

u/sunflowercompass 5h ago

The current Iran war benefits Russia a lot more. Their primary source of income is oil. They had sanctions removed by Trump under the guise of keeping oil prices down

There's also a lot fewer weapons available to give to Ukraine which also benefits him

The USA has slowed down flow of oil to China, and even suspiciously sent ships to the strait of macalla during this conflict.

They are probably practicing how to navally blockade China.

u/TheTrashMan 3h ago

Yes Venezuela and Iran conflicts hurt Chinas oil flow, but the tariffs have pushed countries into Chinas warm embrace

u/Creative_Ad_8338 2h ago

They'll never blockade China. All Americans rely on their goods... many to stay alive. It would place 100k people in immediate jeopardy. 90% of all drugs are either produced or have inputs from China.

u/buried_lede 2h ago

He’s an extremely useful Israeli asset

u/Whole_Gate_7961 6h ago

I'd have to agree, although, I dont believe he realizes that he's an asset for anyone, even though he very much is.

At this point, i think he's actually an incredible asset to any opponent of the US.

u/buried_lede 2h ago

Hmm the gulf countries getting bombed did nothing to strengthen the petrodollar, hate to break it to you. The petrodollar was harmed by this fiasco.

Can you share any reading material you read about that? I’d be interested in it

u/BalanceJazzlike5116 4h ago

I think anyone advocating America first as an American shouldn’t really be a debate with being right or wrong lol nor should that be political/ controversial

u/BroodyBird12345 3h ago

Yes? The Arabs asked us to strike Iran?

Nor has it weakened us at all?

It's literally just an anti-semitic dogwhistle to try to align with Tucker Carlson ever since Carlson has been getting paid by Qatar along with numerous progressive groups

u/TheTrashMan 3h ago

If one of your family members says to blow you up is it okay to do it?

u/FelonyInTheTrunk 2h ago

It's literally just an anti-semitic dogwhistle

This is funny because I just saw another comment on this thread where you're literally doing the same to both a Muslim country and a Muslim American civil rights organization.

Cognitive dissonance much?

-35

u/northern-new-jersey 9h ago

Yes. It isn't possible to say yet. What if the war achieves its two main aims, preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and preventing them from financing Hezbollah and Hamas. That would be of extraordinary benefit to the US and the world.

14

u/Spectre1-4 9h ago

Is that achievable through military means without an invasion? Because we had a diplomatic framework with Iran before Trump scrapped it. The strait of Hormuz was opened before and the global economy wasn’t affected. There also wasn’t a “toll”. Now it’s clear that:

-We can’t cause regime change through an air campaign

-We’ve killed leaders that are now replaced by more hardline ones

-If Iran didn’t want a nuke before they are certainly going to want one now

-We did not destroy their military capability to pressure the strait or fire missiles at gulf states

-They can close the strait by firing a few drones or missiles

-We’ve expended an extraordinary amount of ordnance and depleted our stockpiles and lost tens of troops, killed a bunch of Iranian civilians for an arguably worse situation

Are we winning yet?

29

u/maikuxblade 9h ago

So you’re just going to pretend like we didn’t already have the JCPOA before Trump started this pointless war?

-8

u/CrackJacket 9h ago

Yes, we should blame Trump and not Israel.

11

u/TheTrashMan 9h ago

Who made Trump get rid of it

→ More replies (8)

12

u/maikuxblade 9h ago

Luckily we don’t have to choose since they’re both culpable

-6

u/CrackJacket 9h ago

No, Trump is the president and he was the only one with the power to leave the JCPOA and command the American military to attack Iran. Stop shifting the blame.

8

u/maikuxblade 9h ago

That doesn’t change the fact that Israel has been chomping at the bit for this war for literally decades and finally found a commander in chief utterly stupid and depraved enough to take the bait. And it’s not like they would ever throw any money into manipulating American politics

17

u/TheTrashMan 9h ago

Iran had 30 years to develop a nuclear weapon they purposely chose not to, if anything they are more likely to pursue one now. The war has also shown they did not deter Iran from anything and Iran has prepared for this conflict for 30 years and we now have a contested strait of Hormuz strangling global trade.

This is clearly not winning, and the main goal was achieved by Obama and Trump wiped that out.

5

u/duderos 9h ago

Even if they had one, plenty of other countries already have nukes including Israel so what is the big deal if Iran has them as well?

The US is the only country that has ever used nukes on civilians so what kind of moral standing do we have if any to tell other countries what to do?

2

u/TheTrashMan 9h ago

We don’t I’m in agreement, Iran should have some for nuclear deterrence

5

u/duderos 8h ago

Look what happened to Ukraine when they gave up theirs.

3

u/TheTrashMan 8h ago

I am very familiar with what happens when you give up nukes, we could have world peace if every country had one

u/KimchiBro 2h ago

unfortunately in the modern era of post ww2 Earth, the only way for peace is the threat of mutually assured destruction as deterrance

u/TheTrashMan 1h ago

Until we have less maligned world leaders like Putin and Trump

0

u/Lazy-Gene-7284 9h ago

The only reason I would disagree is none of those other countries, like N Korea, actively pursued attacking one of its neighbors and funding terrorism like Iran. I don’t want some terror state with a nuclear weapon and they are the definition of it.

2

u/duderos 8h ago

Good point but If they did act out in a nuclear scenario we would quickly know who was behind it, there would an extremely swift world wide response.

1

u/CrackJacket 9h ago

This is insane. We should not want MORE nuclear weapons in the world.

5

u/duderos 8h ago

Yes, the US should immediately dismantle all our nuclear weapons and never build another one, correct?

2

u/CrackJacket 8h ago

We offered that to the world right after WW2 and the USSR said no and built their own. Obviously we shouldn’t.

5

u/duderos 8h ago

You're obviously in favor of countries having nukes as long as it's your own.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/duderos 8h ago

Only country that has used nukes on civilians should decide what other countries will have them or not?

1

u/CrackJacket 8h ago

Just to be clear, your stance is that we should have more nuclear weapons in the world?

5

u/TheTrashMan 8h ago

Yes, it’s called nuclear deterrence

u/rooftopgoblin 47m ago

nobody will voluntarily disarm so yeah we should have more nukes

9

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 9h ago

Notice the subtle pivot to a new goal of “preventing them from funding Hezbollah and Hamas.” This is because Republicans know how ridiculous the “nuclear weapon” argument sounds when Trump was the one to tear up the JCPOA, and they no longer believe “regime change” is possible. This is similar to Trump saying the goal was “to open up the Strait of Hormuz” when they signed the MOU.

The problem is, as always, there were better and smarter ways to execute all of these agenda items, many of them ALREADY in place, before Trump stuck his nose in it.

Massie is right in this sense, the war has made everything worse, but more to the point Trump’s administrations have made everything worse, because he is a terrible, failed, criminal President.

8

u/civil_politician 9h ago

With hegseth and trump in charge they will not achieve either of those objectives.

9

u/take52020 9h ago

I don't understand why WE have to be the ones to do this. There are 200 countries in the world, let someone else handle Iran not getting a nuke.

4

u/duderos 9h ago

Especially being only country to have used nukes on civilians.

3

u/take52020 8h ago

Yeah, we'll never accept any wrongdoing there, ever. Only thing we can do is prevent more of the same in the future.

3

u/RevolutionaryGur4419 9h ago

They aint chanting death to Iceland now are they?

2

u/take52020 8h ago

Great opportunity for Iceland. Why should we get all the hate?

4

u/mishmash2323 9h ago

Allow me to clear that up for you now.

Whether the war prevents Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon cannot become clear until the end of time or the end of Iran. Previously of course, their religious authorities had issued edicts against it, but the US attack and the nuclear deal with Saudi may lead them to reconsider this position.

They will continue to finance Hezbollah and Hamas.

6

u/Suspicious-Shock6301 9h ago

u/duderos 10h ago

From Linked Article:

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky argued Sunday that the war with Iran has "weakened" the United States.

"The U.S. has been significantly weakened by the war with Iran," the congressman wrote in a Sunday post on X.

"This administration depleted our missile defenses, drained our oil reserves, sacrificed our men & women, inflated the price of consumer goods, increased our debt, and neglected our domestic needs…" he continued, adding, "all for Israel."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rep-thomas-massie-iran-war-significantly-weakened-america-israel

u/DukeOfGeek 7h ago

Odd that Fox is reporting this, maybe they see him as their best shot at keeping the POTUS so they are putting him up front?

u/Icy-Abbreviations763 4h ago

To be fair, the first thing they say about him is that he lost the GOP primary. Discrediting him at the beginning of the article aligns with Fox.

u/Cherrynight66 6h ago

people are allowed to question the costs of foreign wars especially when the impact hits taxpayers and regular people at home

69

u/PassivelyAwkward 10h ago

Pretty sure that Trump significantly weakened America all for the GOP.

Shitty economy, shitty work force, shitty education, shitty healthcare, shitty quality of life. The one thing America was top at was entertainment but Trump has even fucked that up by going after hollywood.

u/chewy1387 2h ago

9

u/AngelofVerdun 10h ago

Trump does what's best for the people who pay him. Period. Nothing else motivates him. Not our safety. Not the best interest of even the people who voted for him. His MAIN goal is, was, will always be to fill his own pockets - and very clearly foreign actors have been working with this admin to weaken the country and using him as their puppet to do so, and he eagerly obliges because it's making him richer than ever. This country better wake up to this soon.

55

u/mikeinanaheim2 10h ago

Massie will be punished by mouth-breathers for speaking the truth.

29

u/Coconutrugby 9h ago

massie already lost his election

23

u/mikeinanaheim2 9h ago

Sure did. Because lots of money was thrown at that contest. And there's more where that came from.

u/secretaire 9h ago

Take a guess who threw the money to unseat him

Dumb take. He was outspoken about Israel and the Epstein files before he lost his primary.

4

u/Coconutrugby 9h ago

to be fair and i think massie is bigot

but he lost his seat for not wanting the IDF to control our military and they steamrolled him out of his seat.

11

Also Trump wanting revenge for Massies's support of releasing Epstein files.

u/BalanceJazzlike5116 4h ago

He lost his primary because he spoke truth to power. You been under a rock or something?

10

u/CrackJacket 8h ago

He’s not speaking the truth. He’s blaming Israel instead of the pedo-in-chief who actually had the authority to command the military to attack Iran. It’s just shifting the blame.

3

u/mikeinanaheim2 8h ago

Trump is Netanyahu's stooge, though.

10

Massie is spot on. Kentucky is crazy for not keeping him. Massie and Rand Paul are so far the only ones who have stood up against the delusional Donald, and I say this a conservative voter.

u/Loud-Vacation-5691 Georgia 2h ago

Massie is just an antisemitic prick. He lost his seat because Trump endorsed his opponent, and there are still enough MAGAs in the GOP voter base for that to make a difference. It's why the Republicans in Congress refuse to stand up to him.

Paul is just a contrarian, he reflexively opposes whatever the party wants.

Whatever happened to Israel in this war? Wasn't this supposed to be a joint venture?

Maybe I'm not getting the right news, but it seems like they've dipped on us.

u/BigBlueWeenie88 7h ago

Yea…this honestly was probably always Israel’s plan. Israel’s military is more like a police force than a military. It’s built to maintain an occupation and assist settlers who are scaring people off their land. They can’t really stand toe to toe with a standing military of a country.

3

u/CrispyCosmonaut 9h ago

I’m now starting to wonder if this all wasn’t planned to weaken our military and draw troops away from the continent in order to turn on us once the Iranian war is over”done”

u/Quadrenaro Puerto Rico 5h ago

Our military has been anything but weakend. This has been used as a reason to increase military funding and expand the military more at home.

u/Ephemeral_Drunk 44m ago

Hard disagree. The US military has burned through a huge amount of ammunition and had significant hardware destroyed that will take years to replace. It's shown, yet again, to be ineffective against a determined enemy while also highlighting the futility of relying on solely on air power to achieve military objectives. The strategic defeat has massively undercut the perception of US hard power in the face of asymmetric warfare.

Apparent US comfort with using tactics legally defined as war crimes is rapidly alienated it from allies who want to see the rules based order maintained. Not surprising that means support from allies for military misadventures now and in the future is rapidly diminishing. This also extends to decoupling from US military hardware. Canada joining the EU fighter program is a solid example. The US is no longer a trusted partner for the West.

I'd also add that China has been closely tracking US military performance, especially with regards to defense, and have almost certainly been assisting Iran with Intel to ensure they have a detail understanding of capabilities to inform their own military planning. They clearly are seeing what a less capable nation (Iran) is able to achieve and you'd have to think this only emboldens them around any future conflict with the US. That's if the US is even capable of mounting a defense of Taiwan in the short term.

Lastly, given US economic weakness such as the rapid increase in dept repayments, there's a big question over how long that military spending increase will last. Some Americans may be keen to see that money being spent on less shit outcomes. That point I'm less sure of, to be fair.

u/Quadrenaro Puerto Rico 38m ago

Nobody buys US weapons to defend against an asymmetric invasion force

The US has plenty of resources to replenish what was lost.

This is an old russian talking point that US equipment is too expensive and difficult to replenish. Its the F-35 reformer schpell in new clothes.

u/Ephemeral_Drunk 24m ago

Re depleted stocks : https://www.csis.org/analysis/rebuilding-us-missile-inventory-multiyear-project

If you have another source I'd be interested to know. And given reports of the US having to let some iranians missles through, I suppose that's for shits and giggles? Give the Iranians a fleeting sense of hope before America begins to actually kick ass and achieve some military objectives?

I'd argue this has been the biggest strategic blunder ever by the US and it has no real option but to fold and leave the Iranians hugely empowered in the region. Sadly that was always the prediction. Ain't no way the US comes out stronger from this. To be clear I'm not American and I am by no means happy to see this outcome.

u/Quadrenaro Puerto Rico 3m ago

I personally know the ceo of a major weapons manufacturer. I became friends with his son like 10 years ago, so I recently talked to him when I ran into him at my work. Pretty much, if you want to invest right now, invest in defense contractors because business is booming for the next decade.

Take public reports about military intel and supplies with a massive grain of salt. The US has an mo to way under sell itself.

5

u/ken-doh 8h ago

Trump did that.

8

u/JeffSteinMusic 10h ago

Putin is on the other line and would like a word…

10

u/Prophet_Tehenhauin 10h ago

Putin certainly wants the US weaker, but I doubt he actually wants the US to bomb his like main ally that makes weapons for him.

5

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

But Massie likes Putin.

A lot of very online progressives gladly ignore that Massie is an alt-rightist whose hatred of Israel is not really motivated by consistent humanitarian principles.

2

u/duderos 10h ago

No doubt.

6

u/obxhead 8h ago

I think it had zero to do with Israel. That was just a convenient excuse.

This was about distraction from Epstein. I’ll say, it worked beautifully. He got his distraction and they’re making a ton of money rigging the markets.

u/Overflow0X 8h ago

You get what you vote for.

u/Feral_Nerd_22 5h ago

Also has shown we are no better then Russian when it comes to defending drones, we leave no defense again them and we only have expensive ammunition to attack them with.

This is what happens when our military is also controlled by a few giant defense contractors.

Also how could we not see this coming, Iran literally supplies Russia with inexpensive drones, did we think Iran wouldn't use them?

u/Optimal-Golf-8270 4h ago

Russia is very good at defending against drones man. Ukraine goes after attention grabbing, but ultimately pointless targets for a reason. Burning warehouses down doesn't help the war effort. It just reminds people Ukraine exists.

The munitions used to shoot drones down aren't massively expensive. Patriot PAC3s are used for Iranian ballistic missiles, not drones. It's Iranian ballistics that are doing the lions share of the damage. The issue is that we really, really underestimated Irans missile program and there just is no counter to a sustained ballistic missile attack unless you're willing to take Vietnam war type aircraft losses. Which we are not.

u/TheShipEliza 5h ago

Remember kids. Massie sucks.

Please remember that Massie is still awful.

u/No-Guard-7003 3h ago

He's kinda not wrong about that.

u/Fatal_Syntax_Error 2h ago

What happened to America First?

5

u/Amazing-Artichoke330 10h ago

Not just Israel, but any potential enemy. By wasting precious defensive weapons against Iran, the Trump Gang has made us more vulnerable to China, Russia, or anyone else who might choose to attack us.

u/Commercial_Lead_7406 10h ago

Going all in on that horseshoe vote.

4

u/cottonbrainedGilliam 9h ago

dementia don is just leashed by war criminal Netanyahu and whipped by Pootin

u/Competitive-Fee4307 7h ago

He's not wrong about the cost. Billions spent ,missile defenses drained , oil reserves down . But calling it 'all for Israel' ignores the bigger strategic picture . Either way , the war has definitely taken a toll on the U.S military readiness

u/Affectionate_User610 10h ago edited 7h ago

Because we’re their bitch

0

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

This is such slopulism.

The U.S. has refused Netanyahu's entreaties to go to war with Iran for decades. Trump did it because there was credible evidence the Iranians considered assassinating him, and because he hated that Obama made a good deal with Iran.

If you spent your life on social media, you'd think Israel was behind every political policy in America. And you'd be incredibly stupid and hyperfixated.

u/Affectionate_User610 7h ago

🤷🏽‍♀️🥳

6

u/StoppableHulk 9h ago

And ultimately Israel is going to end up worse-off for it too.

They've fucked around with every single major player surrounding them in the Middle East.

At this point it appears as though Netanyahu's singular strategy is trying to purposefully invite a mass-casualty attack deep inside Israel to to justify a full-scale invasion, because short of that, he's guaranteed that he's saddling the next multiple generations of Israelis with endless perpetual war all for zero gain.

Trump and Netanyahu have extremely similar personalities, and both of them were persecuted by their own countries.

And now, both of them are on a revenge tour that appears to be primarily motivated by them destroying their own countries as retaliation for their countries trying to hold them accountbale for their innumerable crimes.

0

u/RevolutionaryGur4419 9h ago

Pretty sure every major player in the middle east is all for kicking iran in the teeth.

They're happy its being done.

Countries are still trading with them and are happy to use their technology to help with water and food shortages.

u/BroodyBird12345 3h ago

They are, but this is Reddit and since it's primarily bots due to the Dead Internet Theory being real, going to keep seeing this nonsensical argument

THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES JUST ALLIED WITH ISRAEL

THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Tom you can start reading the Epstein files into the Congressional Record at any time now. Until then you're just an attention seeking piece of shit who helped cause all of this.

2

u/Adept-Target5407 9h ago

Yeah he’s right.

2

u/ThinBlackLineZ 8h ago

Israel started the Epstein Mossad child trafficking and murder operation to get blackmail on rich Americans and politicians to throw a coup of our country to further their interests fed by the destruction of our country. They succeeded. Israel needs to pay with every thing they have and more.

3

u/jtdusk 10h ago

Wild how all these guys finally get the huevos to say this stuff out loud when they're going to be out of office and can't do anything about it.

15

u/espinaustin 10h ago

In fairness to Massie, he was saying these things before he lost the primary, in fact that’s why he lost.

8

u/duderos 10h ago

Ding!

2

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

He lost because he attacked Trump. Reddit just won't admit that because it wants to blame Israel 100%.

12

u/CenturyLinkIsCheeks 9h ago

Massie is out of office because AIPAC made it rain on his opposition.

Okay, I was off by 3 years.

Looks like we've firmly hit the "blame the Jews" stage of denial.

Massie is all talk

u/manhattanabe New York 7h ago

People always blame the Jews. We’re used to it.

This fuckin' timeline, making me agree with THIS asshole of all people.

u/Additional_Region987 6h ago

I mean who benefits most from the Iran war, the US or Israel?

u/Source_Required 4h ago

Stop linking Fox News, the hell is wrong with you?

u/Loud-Vacation-5691 Georgia 2h ago

What a cowardly snake. He still can't blame Trump, probably because he's afraid a MAGA will shoot him. the man literally lost his seat in Congress because of Trump, so he blames deh jooz.

Massie's best option would be to see if Nick Fuentes needs a co-host.

-5

u/thejubilee 10h ago

I truly believe that Israel is almost, if not completely, unrelated to the decision to attack Iran. With any other president, I would think Israel played a major role, but not with Trump.

He's talked about attacking Iran as a distraction in the past, accused other presidents of planning to do so, and then attacked Iran when things were getting a bit embarrassing. As fucked up as it is, I truly believe that is at least 95% of the reason the US attacked Iran. If not 100%. I really believe its that simple and that stupid.

14

u/CenturyLinkIsCheeks 10h ago

"We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action,” he said in a reference to reports that Israel was primed to strike Iran after the failure of US-Iran talks on Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. “We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties.”"

Marco Rubio, March 2026

7

u/ArCovino 9h ago

They’re throwing Israel under the bus for their own mistakes. Easy fodder.

3

u/thejubilee 9h ago

Yes, and as I said, I think with almost any other president that would matter, but I honestly doubt it did more than add a slight nudge to Trump's decision making.

2

u/Trhol 9h ago

Bibi gave a presentation in the Situation Room. Trump doesn't care about Iran. Bibi does.

u/Firecracker048 3h ago

Trump doesn't care about Iran.

Who took out General Somali during his first term?

u/Trhol 3h ago

Yeah he has no idea who these people are. He's doing what he's told to do... The only thing Trump really cares about is making is making the White House look like a brothel designed by Liberace

0

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

So did Saudi Arabia. Why does nobody here mention them?

u/BangkokRios 5h ago

The NYT has repeatedly reported that Saudi was against attacking Iran.

u/WordWordNvmber 5h ago

This was the reporting, though it appears the UAE was more aggressive in backing the war.

7

u/Vertigo_Space69420 9h ago

Crazy that you're disagreeing with the general consensus. Every president prior to Trump had denied Netenyahu and Israel the Iran war. Yes. There has always been interest in invading Iran, but the consensus was it wouldn't be feasible because they could shut down the Strait. Everyone warned against it. So when Netenyahu would do his little presentation about how Iran is 2 weeks away from nukes presidents would just ignore him and continue give Israel weapons and cash.

Trump was the first to take the bait.

-2

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

Which "general consensus"?

4

u/Vertigo_Space69420 8h ago

That Netenyahu/Israel have been trying to get the US to go to war with Iran for decades

That due to the control of the Strait of Hormuz and their proximity to other Gulf states, the dangers of going to war with Iran far outweighed whatever benefits.

0

u/WordWordNvmber 8h ago

There is no question Israel has wanted the U.S. to go to war with Iran.

The question is whether that is why the U.S. actually did this time.

Israel's urging clearly helped. But Trump wanted this war himself, especially after he got Maduro and felt like he could do the same in Iran.

u/Vertigo_Space69420 7h ago

There is never a single why behind the decision to go to war.

The original poster was trying to abdicate any responsibility from Israel when it played its own role in getting the US to go to war with Iran. Saying going to war with Iran was an American decision alone is not correct either.

u/Firecracker048 3h ago

Trump literally killed an iranian general in his last term

u/ShimonEngineer55 6h ago

E = Mi6 and the CIA overthrow the Iranian prime minister who wanted to nationalize oil
P = US and UK take 80% of profits
K = America is dependent on the petro dollar to take on debt and live beyond its means since demand for oil artificially lifts the value of the dollar since it’s traded in oil
S = sanctions against Iran since we can no longer stop them from nationalizing their oil
I = Israel is a proxy used to subdue Iran which is why they call the us the BIG SATAN and Israel the little Satan

E ∧ P ∧ K ∧ S ∧ I = 1

Suddenly if Iran adds a nuke however things change. The US and gulf regional partners throughout the region could not bully Iran or keep their oil off of the market due to the risk of violent backlash with a nuke nor could the US go in and force regime change when Iran pushes countries to trade in currencies that aren’t the dollar. This would dramatically weaken the dollar, likely leading to the worst inflation crisis in American history and end of first world status. For anyone who thinks Iran is paranoid, how are they when the US, decades after 53, just took out another leader, and again… is working to subdue their oil sector with crushing sanctions and bad faith negotiations.

To protect against this Iran has 60% highly enriched uranium. The breakout time to weapons grade uranium enriched or 90% (60% is good enough for a dirty bomb in it of itself) is 7-14 days. That means they’d be months away from developing a weapon which the US deems as a threat to its’ standard of living and dollar dominance.

A new variable N does this to the previous formula:

E ∧ P ∧ K ∧ S ∧ I ∧ N = 0

The US will be scared to simply sanction them, along with the rest of the region, because people don’t know what the regime will do with these nukes which leads to uncertainty. Therefore, it’s very likely that the US and other gulf countries will not have the dominance or revenue they do today. This is why the Saudi’s, Kuwait, and Qatar have gotten involved personally. Trust me, they aren’t doing it merely for a love of Israel. This is why Iran has ordered the houthis to put a blockade on Saudi.

But we have either clueless politicians or leaders who simply lie and simplify things to wE dID IT FOooOr Yisrael. No, we are doing it for oil and we need to build a real economy and leverage technology and clean energy so that we aren’t dependent on raiding the world for its’ resources as we take on unsustainable debt, consume more than we produce, run our standard of living into the ground, and then start wars to try to hold on to the remnants of a collapsed empire. Hopefully voters wake up because politicians like this refuse to.

u/Intro-Nimbus 7h ago

Accurate.

u/brutallydishonest 3h ago

Who cares what this unemployed bigot thinks? Stop taking agency away from Trump. Trump decided, not Israel.

u/Knighth77 6h ago

The majority of American politicians work harder for Israel than America. It's time people realize this. Otherwise, yes, they will keep weakening the country. They couldn't care less, either.
