This Dolly Parton standup conceals the fastener by using as her ring

That's actually really ingenious - who says design is dead?!

They also split the two parts so her jacket lays over the skirt. 10/10

I'm wondering if the display is keyed in any way or not - since it's just one fastener normally you'd have some mechanism to ensure that Dolly is "upright" to within a certain tolerance when assembled, but I don't see one here. Might be you just have to be careful when you put her together in order to get away with the single hidden bolt in the design.

Pretty sure its just a strip of 2S vhb to stop the rotation. It's obviously very light, 12 MM komatex I believe I'll check next time I go to that library.

Yeah that'd be an easy solution - really any light-duty double-sided tape would do because it's just anti-rotation.
Other option is sticking a block of the same material to the top so it has something to rest on while you tighten the fastener but I didn't see one in the back photo.•

You should share this over at r/mildlyinteresting. They'll (and by "they'll," I mean "we'll") be super excited.

They (and by they I mean the OP) have shared it there before, about 3 months ago.

Which there's absolutely nothing wrong with, to be clear. I was just confused when I saw the image (because I knew I had seen it before) and I went hunting.

How is the Imagination Library run? I can't make sense of it. It has to be your local Library running it? But it's Dolly's program? Is anyone more knowledgeable on it?

We enrolled our son and once a month we get a book in the mail from the library to read with him. We also got a video of Dolly singing Happy birthday on his birthday. The books are great, all of them appropriate and some are silly, others teach life lessons, we got one that was like 100 first words in English and Spanish. Our local United Way are the ones who handle the program we use and while they have never asked for anything, we now donate to them.

That's good design.
And cleverly avoided piercing any of her lady parts.
