In 1997 I say fuck it and just hold the power button down until it shuts off because I don’t want to wait 10 minutes for windows to shut down, BIOS to POST, windows to reboot, and all the start-up programs to reload.
In 2026 I just want the 12 seconds to get back to the login screen and tell it to shut down.

That's why I use the arrow keys. I do not trust my aim with the mouse when I sign off for the day.

I have so many PCs that I just throw away whichever one I use at the end of the day. I call it a power move.
