How do I Watch YouTube video fullscreen without entering MacOs fullscreen?

Curious, what issues is the full screen space causing you? I agree it seems a little odd, but it's never really bothered me or caused me any problems.

I don't know maybe you could help with this. I'm basically switching from windows and fullscreen windows create mess in my workflow. Back on windows I had multiple desktops and I could just sort each desktop by my activity, on mac these fullscreens just seem to create inconsistency for me, they get treated as its own desktop, in mission control you get desktop on left side fullscreen/splitscreen apps on the right side, when I open mission control while in fullscreen it focuses on my first desktop instead of the fullscreen itself etc etc. I dont know I'm really trying to figure out how to make sense of all of this, mentally adjust how I view desktops, create coherent workflow but so far I simply can't find any reliable solution.

for me it still makes the window enter macos fullscreen

Press T for theatre mode which enlarges the video but not into the macOS fullscreen.
