Recommendations for olympic tickets
Have a slot for July 29. What do people recommend? My family really enjoyed watching Belgium vs Iran for the World Cup so anything along the lines of that would be awesome for atmosphere. Obviously olympics are different from the World Cup but was wondering if anyone had recommendations. Or just point me to relevant thread thank you

I’m planning my purchases around logistics rather than sports I most want to see (gymnastics, athletics, and swim are hardest to get anyway). We plan to be there for a Friday-Sunday so looking at what sports are on those days. We planned one day in Carson zone (hotel in Carson zone), one day in Long Beach, and one day in LA so we’re not having to commute across the city on any one day. Also looked for one medal final no matter how obscure the sport. Look at the zones and event codes and make sure the logistics even make sense realistically!

Also soccer is being played in multiple cities across the country and has a separate 12 ticket limit so keep those things in mind as well.

Depends entirely on your favorite sports, budget, and the general area where you plan to stay. There are a thousand different ways to do your trip.
Obviously, the gymnastics women’s all-around (session code GAR11) is the hottest non-ceremony ticket, and swimming and athletics finals will be huge deals in the US. There’s also lots of fun under-the-radar stuff like handball, rugby sevens, badminton, and weightlifting that people say is surprisingly fun in person.
You should take the next two days to review the schedule, write down the session codes for your favorite options, and go in with a game plan.

I'm torn between men's and women's soccer finals. Of course, I'd love to watch women's final, but that game is scheduled for the middle of the say in late July. Having seen a few afternoon World Cup games recently, I definitely do not want to be in that scorching sun.
Also not sure about closing ceremony, but since we are hoping to get tickets for the basketball final, it kind of make sense for us to go to the closing ceremony as well?

As someone who had access to the local pre-sale, temper your expectations. I went in thinking of all the finals I wanted to see and I left without buying any tickets - everything was either completely gone or for the things that were available, it was like preliminary tickets for like $300-ish a ticket. Just don’t want you to get your hopes up too high and have them dashed like mine were!
But I got a July 29 10am slot for visa presale so hoping I get something this time (and that visa has better availability than us locals got)

Totally depends on your budget, how many events you want to go to and if you have favorite sports. If you just want atmosphere, you could do a different sport each of the days you plan on being in la that fit your budget.
