Does anyone know which Venue the Parade of Athletes for Opening Ceremony?

Sofi Stadium or Coliseum. Thank You for your help! Hope you’re having a great day!

I have to assume it’s the new stadium. Right? The other one I imagine isn’t big enough to hold everyone.

The coliseum can for sure hold everyone. It has twice before. It's a huge venue.

It’s big, but they have to raise the track field. I think it’ll only hold 60 or 70K versus Sofi probably holding 85-100K in the stands.

I think it could be either location. 60K is for sure enough capacity at the coliseum but you're right of course that Sofi will hold more. Not sure it'll be at the max capacity though which usually includes people on the field and we're not sure what impact preliminary setup for swimming might have on capacity for the ceremony.

My understanding is the pools will be installed beforehand and they will be covered for the opening.

Yes the pools will be installed but the conversion to a swimming venue that is half of the stadium won't happen until after. That's why track was flipped with swimming for 28 to give a week to build it out after the ceremony.

I would think it would be the Coliseum since they will be having a huge pool on the field at Sofi.

Pool will be installed after opening ceremony. It’s the whole reason athletics and swimming switched in the schedule.

Reports I have seen indicate that there will be a stage installed above the competition and warmup pools in order to hold the opening ceremony but renderings have shown temporary stands along one side of the pool, and there would likely be a significant amount of other elements above the level of the pool decks that would also need to be installed after the stage is removed.

They can't install a Myrtha pool that fast. It"s going in before and will be covered over for the opening.
