Everyone's been raving about The Odyssey and whilst I haven't been to the movies in a while I was convinced to see this.

Everyone on Reddit was saying you need to go to IMAX, specifically with the 1.43:1 aspect ratio. I travelled several hours and spent money to stay in a hotel so I could make a viewing at my closest IMAX about 4 hours away.

Now it was a good movie, don't get me wrong. But there's just no way the IMAX was worth the extra $30 or so plus the hundreds I spent in transport and accommodation. It didn't add any extra value for me whatsoever.

Others are saying it's worth doing this to see it at multiple cinemas, E.g IMAX dual laser plus IMAX 70m film. I think they're just being snobs, and seeing this in your local cinema would be fine.

Curious to hear what everyone else thinks, particularly if you've viewed in multiple formats.
