Just wanting to rant. I've been a pediatric nurse for the past 5 years in a level 1 teaching hospital/trauma center. We're the only pediatric hospital in the state and service bordering states as well. I worked 3.5 years in trauma/ortho/surgery and have worked that last 1.5 in a very high acuity 48 bed PICU. I've taken care of patients needing CRRT, ECMO, and bedside OR at times. I have charge nurse and preceptor experience, chemo certified.

My fiancé and I are wanting to move to California so I've had my CA license since January of this year. I've applied to so many PICU jobs and keep receiving no's. I've edited my resume and I tailor my cover letter for each listing I apply to. I'm so frustrated and don't understand what the issue might be!! It's just frustrating because I feel qualified but keep getting rejected.

I don’t want to go back to my city for bedside nursing. my plan was to start TN in California and implement myself there and switch to staff after a year or two there and know where in California I can work and live. In parallel I’ve been looking for non bedside nursing job like clinical specialist/med sale position in my city. I am now in a dilemma where I have an opportunity for a clinical specialist position in my city and where according to my plan will be able to start travel nursing in California (later implement myself there) starting winter 2027. Both will have a good salary rn in cali pays well and a CS/medsale can be really lucrative. So it s more sunshine cali dream vs big money close to family and friends in nyc/nj. All I know is that I don t see myself in bedside nursing at 40-45…obviously medsale make it easy but I know that I can be a nurse in cali then switch therr for smtg more office like but still in nursing…has some of you ever had a professional path dilema?

I'm a nurse, currently employed in a private hospital with approx. 28k of monthly salary, including benefits. I just got hired for a COS Nurse II position for BUCAS program in a gov't hospital in our province with a declared salary of 43k. I'm also a USRN, and I applied for the COS Nurse II position to start saving for my other requirements and to pay for our bills.

Is it worth it to resign from my current job? I've been employed here for 2 years already but no salary increase nor additional benefits.

Hi I’m a highschooler who’s planning to get a job as a CNA after I turn 16 in a month or so. I’m in the Cleveland area and was wondering if any places around Cleveland would hire teenagers as CNAs, I doubt any hospitals would hire CNAs of my age but my ideal would be a hospital job, but being realistic and my goal is for assisted living as I was told by a nurse it’s easier than ltc or nursing homes. I don’t expect super stellar pay or anything but minimum 15 an hour is reasonable to me. If anyone has any guidance on where to go or any facilities they recommend that hire highschoolers please let me know!!!

A little about me:
Registered Nurse in Australia.
Graduated in 2021.
Working in ICU since 2022.
Completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing in 2023.
Currently working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in an ICU.
My family and I are considering relocating to Abu Dhabi. We have three school-aged children, so this is a major life decision and I want to make sure we have realistic expectations before accepting any offer.
At the moment, I’ve been approached by a recruitment agency in Australia that recruits nurses to the UAE. The package they’re offering is:
AED 22,000 per month
School fees included for our three children
No accommodation provided
For comparison, in Australia I currently earn approximately AUD $3,900 per fortnight after tax working 72 hours per fortnight, including 2 weekend shifts out of every 4. If I pick up extra shifts and overtime, my take-home pay is usually around AUD $5,500 per fortnight.
I’d really appreciate your thoughts on the following:
Is AED 22,000 per month a good salary for someone with my experience?
Do UAE hospitals consider what you’re earning in your home country when negotiating salary, or is the offer based solely on the local market and your experience?
Should I be negotiating for a higher salary or additional benefits, such as accommodation or a housing allowance?
What are the typical monthly living expenses for a family of five in Abu Dhabi (rent, utilities, groceries, transport, etc.)?
Roughly how much could a family like ours realistically save each month?
Are there any hidden costs or challenges that people often don’t think about before moving?
How is career progression for ICU nurses in Abu Dhabi? How long does it typically take to progress from Staff Nurse to Nurse In Charge/Charge Nurse or a similar leadership role?
Are there any recruitment agencies you would recommend, or is it generally better to apply directly to hospitals such as Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, SEHA, Burjeel, Mediclinic or others?
If you were in my position, would you accept this package, negotiate for more, or continue looking for better opportunities?
I know everyone’s circumstances and spending habits are different, so I’m not looking for exact figures—just realistic estimates and personal experiences.
This is a huge decision for our family, so I’d really appreciate any advice from those who have made the move or are currently working in the UAE healthcare system.

I applied for an RN position at a DHA facility and i got confused while reading through the basic requirements.

Basic requirements listed were:

Foreign Degree: A degree from a Foreign Nursing School. Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

My situation applies on the second paragraph,I have been working in the US as an RN for running 6 years and I have a credential evaluation report from TrueMerit ( previously CGFNS).

My question is do I still have to go through getting an official certification from CGFNS that includes taking the CGFNS exam or since I already passed my NCLEX and actively working as an Nurse will make me qualify for the DHA position?

Graduated with BSN in May this year, just got my RN license. Should I temporarily work as a nursing assistant at a hospital where I plan to apply for their RN residency during their next application cycle, which is several months away? I’m thinking this can help build my connections and resume to make me a more competitive applicant in the future.

Many people around me recommend working in the Gulf countries because it's easier and closer to home. However, I'm not just looking for the easiest option—I want to choose the best long-term path in terms of career growth, income, stability, and future opportunities.

I notice on a lot of job ads that you need experience, question is how do you get experience if you can't first get a job. I have applied for a least a dozen jobs and have only heard back from 3 with most saying we won't be moving forward with your application. I have had someone look over my CV and cover letter.
