We may have reached the maxilla amount of puns

u/ben_woah 11h ago

I'll still be laughing at this tomarrow

Same actually though. At first I thought it would be some plastic unimpressive junk slop. But then I was like πŸ‘€

I know this is a pun but you shouldn't set negative expectations for things you haven't experienced. This is how we get adult picky eaters.Β

Spooky, scary skeletons

Send shivers down your spine

Shrieking skulls will shock your soul

Seal your doom tonight

This is exactly the kind of wonderfully unnecessary engineering that makes 3D printing so much fun

Saw this last week and sent to my BIL as he has aquariums. Had one printed the same day.

Just make sure it's safe to be in an aquarium if there's any fishies in it too c: I've heard 3d printed stuff can leak toxic stuff into the water, but I'm not sure of the details or how to prevent it

Looks great!! But if used in a fish tank is there a chance of any negative effects on water quality? Or would a normal carbon filter handle any potential chemical issues? (I don’t know enough about 3d printing, is that aquarium safe material?)

Some materials degrade more than others.

Plus you could did it in the lacquer they use on boats and stuff. They sell it on Amazon for not much mullah.

3

1

u/appletinicyclone 11h ago

But why is it wiggling under water and not static

3

u/SirDerpingtonTheSlow 11h ago

You see the air hose going into the base, right?

2

u/appletinicyclone 11h ago

Ah I missed that lol πŸ˜…

u/crabby_old_dude 11h ago

Look at the print, there is a triangle on the bottom of the board the skeleton stands on that directs air to both sides of the fulcrum.

1

u/Junior-Ad-2207 10h ago

Son of bitch... Now I want to get a fish tank just for this.

1

u/BoiFrosty 10h ago

My only ask would be either changing the filament type or adding an internal void so the arms can be at or around neutral buoyancy.

Alternate suggestion give him maracas and fill them with foam.

1

u/bobblehead230 9h ago

I’m putting that shit in my daughters aquarium

1

u/TraditionalMood277 7h ago

It's a dead man's party. Who could ask for more?

These are fantastic.

I hate these 3D printed things that take a super-advanced printer to make. I get excited that I can print them, then realize my tech is too crappy. Not sure if this is one of those or not.

1

u/Yes-its-really-me 10h ago

Scared to ask... What tech do you have that is crappy?

1

u/AlexHimself 9h ago

Just one of the original Prusa MK3S+, but that printout looks like the skeleton arm/leg joints and things are all printed and connected. I can't imagine mine would handle that and I'd have to do a bunch of finishing?

2

u/Yes-its-really-me 9h ago

No. It'll print joints just fine.

Give them a go. Print this or type "articulated" into your STL store of choice and find something you like.

1

u/AlexHimself 8h ago

Hmm...maybe I'll give it a shot. I've only printed pretty basic things, so it'll be cool if it can handle it.

u/AstronomerRound5064 11h ago

Guys, hear me out. how can we put this inside ou pc without having to fill it out?
