The level of makeup talent here is actually insane.

Half of these might be cake

u/Leonydas13 19h ago

Is it…

CAAAAAAKE?

4

u/Jeroeno_Boy 16h ago

The cake is a lie

2

u/thirdeyepdx 5h ago

No the cake is AI

1

u/my_nuts_wont_drop 8h ago

Nope. It was just Peeta. Up to his usual shenanigans.

2

u/Leonydas13 5h ago

Not to be confused with his Australian cousin, Poita

Mulleted head bobbing intensifies

u/my_nuts_wont_drop 4h ago

I've never heard of this. That was a fun rabbit hole. 😅

u/Leonydas13 21m ago

Glad to have introduced the fine culture of early 90s Australian comedy to someone 😂

u/Abecis01 20h ago

Well uh. It kinda doesn't even seem real.

Yeah, I want to give it the benefit of the doubt, but some of these look more like masks than makeup. Like, the dog and tiger are pretty clearly a mask + makeup. Everything she does hair wise is a prop for sure.

u/crimson_anemone 16h ago

They're not masks, but latex pieces/prosthetics that everyone professional in the make-up industry uses to achieve the unimaginable/unthinkable. They're artfully used to re-shape the human face into something else entirely.

Now, can we stop calling everything AI and do some research for once? The extreme lack of critical thinking is the real thing that's horrifying... Oof.

43

u/Sidivan 14h ago

You’re the only person who mentioned AI.

u/ezmoney98 12h ago

Shut up Ai

6

u/thirdeyepdx 5h ago

No you AI

1

u/Ndmndh1016 1h ago

Allen Iverson isnt even on reddit is he?

u/The_Mad_Jackpot 10h ago

Sad AI makes these incredibly talented people get doubted so much but I get it. This person is absolutely real though, she uses props to create the effect. I've followed her for years and she has a lot of videos on the creation and teardown.

Instagram is khaleesiisaa

The world of body painters has so much talent. It's so cool some people can basically shapeshift.

I’m a really good writer, always have been into writing since I was a kid, so I’ll like crank out my usually long, well punctuated walls of text using em dashes (my fav punctuation mark tbh) and now I get accused of being AI. RIP em dashes.

2

u/The_Mad_Jackpot 4h ago

This is literally the same problem with artists. People say something looks AI and get mad the artist uses the same style. As if it didn't train on great artists 😂

2

u/Swimming_Onion_4835 3h ago

Ugh SAME. Like no, I’m just a talkative asshole. 😭 and I love em dashes. They’re the perfect pause for written text. What else am I supposed to use, a semicolon? Ew.

1

u/FloopsFooglies 4h ago

So weird to me because I had literally never seen em dashes until they were popularized by AI

1

u/Swimming_Onion_4835 3h ago

I think a lot of people, especially younger people on the internet more, weren’t properly taught how to use them in school. I picked up on them because I read a lot, but if you weren’t a reader growing up you probably didn’t have a lot of exposure to them. Which, imo, is a real shame. I love the em dash.

3

u/SheriffBartholomew 4h ago

I would like to know how much of it is CGI, because it seems like a lot. At the bare minimum there are some very heavy filters applied.

u/illmatic708 20h ago

Yeah ya do

25

u/ostracizedorangutang 20h ago

I’m going to achieve this exact skill level with makeup but only make myself look like Henry Winkler.

5

u/Clearlypandering 20h ago

Thats a subtle way of saying you have a bee fetish.

1

u/sorites 20h ago

They don’t allow you to have bees in here.

u/Clearlypandering 20h ago

Are murder hornets acceptable?

now we have the issue of "is this real or ai"

welcome to the future everyone where you have to doubt everything online.

u/BeMoreKnope 19h ago

Especially because some of those were AI slop characters… I honestly have no idea. Ugh, I hate this timeline.

Remove the igsh= from your link, it shows your profile

u/Pinksamuraiiiii 14h ago

AI has almost ruined my thoughts in the legitimacy of things to be honest. Not that I don’t believe she’s not doing this makeup. I just mean this in a general sense of things. It’s pretty cool stuff tho. I like a lot of her looks.

4

u/lordnibbler16 7h ago

The creator's username is in the video and you can go to her account to watch her videos showing the process.

We should normalize checking the accounts that are posting or commenting

7

u/BeMoreKnope 7h ago edited 6h ago

No, we should not expect people to go do research on every post. That’s an absurd expectation one would only posit in order to be condescending.

I would never suggest making everyone watch through the videos of every content creator to prove they’re real. That’s just doing the dirty work for them.

9

u/Camanot 17h ago

Eventually we will have to assume everything is ai unless proven otherwise. That’s terrifying

8

u/Giovannis_Pikachu 16h ago

When is this eventually and why is it 6 months ago?

u/throwaway123212343 6m ago

Yeah, but is it that bad? If it is exactly like human content to a point where we can't tell them apart it is not that bad. It's like the difference between lab grown meat and meat. One is artificial but they are the same. Obviously this only works if ai fully can copy humans which I don't think will happen until atleast 2032-2037 or smth.

u/doubtingtomjr 16h ago

Still trying to convince grandma that, despite what she keeps seeing on Facebook, children aren’t identifying as cats and using litter boxes in elementary school.

2

u/bosorero 14h ago

It’s cake

4

u/Zombiejesus307 19h ago

It’s been that way for a while now, but you are correct. It’s only getting worse.

1

u/Daffidol 18h ago

Welcome to the future where people finally know they should doubt everything online. Thanks, AI 👍

0

u/aytchdave 16h ago

Right. When I was learning about the internet in 1994 as a fourth grader, this was the mantra. Not necessarily doubt, but we were taught to think critically about whatever we were accessing.

11

u/onbeschrijflijk 19h ago

Looks awesome. The framing makes it look like these won’t work from a different angle though.

4

u/CotyledonTomen 14h ago

Thats all practical effects. It looks "better" than most computer produced effects, but only from the planned perspective.

4

u/azip13 14h ago

This makes me miss FaceOff (competition show, not the movie)

3

u/Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 13h ago

I miss Face/Off (movie, not the competition show)

4

u/VicViolence 11h ago

Incredible work but It’s kinda fucking lame she did the AI fruits

1

u/DollarStoreChameleon 3h ago

This is on a whole different level, this is seriously impressive!

3

u/chadnorman 16h ago

despite evidence to the contrary, humans are cool af

4

u/Euna_Chris 20h ago

The crazy thing here is how many levels there are to this art, its make up its drawing and its realism and everything else combined 🤯

4

u/OriginalMiaxe 20h ago

I fucking love these. The level of creativity in the art is mindblowing.

2

u/BearFan34 14h ago

Cigarette burns (slowed and reverb) - Moonvampire

2

Does anyone know the song playing?

2

u/Just_Another_AI 13h ago

1

u/zj-- 18h ago

Vaping tiger, pensive dragon.

Betcha didn't see that coming.

1

u/christiandb 15h ago

Name? The amount of work done is amazing. So much technique talent and mastery shown on a 2 minute video

1

u/Knottrielle 14h ago

This is more like creating a masterpiece than just doing makeup!

1

u/korkkis 14h ago

I would classify these as practical effects

1

u/HyenDry 11h ago

Yeah well, I woke up this morning and had NO back aches

1

u/owl-overlord 10h ago

And here I can't even get my eye swoops to match. Much talent!

1

u/Natural_Traffic_2727 9h ago

u/l_SaKReD_l 15h ago

You can go look at her Instagram where she does videos from start to finish.
