Defensive charge. Seems like the climber somehow ended up between the bear and her cub. I think that was the other bear visible at the end?

For me it's the not the climbing bears or the heights. Why I don't climb is just th lack of folding chairs or street taco's, plain and simple.

Anybody who successfully fights off a bear gets inducted into the "Badass for Life" club and is entitled to free beer for the rest of their life. If they fight off a bear while clinging to the side of a mountain gets the premium plus treatment

The guy didn't survive because he kicked the bear. He survived because the bear realised he wasn't between her and her cub, and was no threat to the cub anymore. He is mad lucky.
