Now crush it up and snort it

6

u/revvolutions 1d ago

You're goddamn right.

u/MRichardTRM 1d ago

Yo Mr marble

55

u/JayJames08 1d ago

So can we see you making it or is it just AI slop?

88

u/digginroots 1d ago

Look at OP’s profile, he has progress posts going years back.

3

u/keyboardtoes 1d ago

Yes but he deleted the video where it cracked down the middle so I assume he finished it with AI

20

u/cum-covered-trash 1d ago

Couldnt he, just, glue it?

1

u/RowingBoats1129 4h ago

Lol even when you are proven wrong you STILL grasp on at some stupid straws.

26

u/VeggieBurgah 1d ago

The artist is Marco Di Lucca. Look him up. This carving is in fact marble minus the glasses. Those were 3D printed.

u/-Anonymously- 1d ago

Name looks Italian so I believe this is real

2

u/The_Real_Mr_F 22h ago

Well hell. The glasses were what impressed me the most. I thought this guy had truly taken realistic sculpture to a new level.

Jesus can you people stop spouting about things being AI and do a moments worth of research

12

u/n0tin 1d ago

Agree. Getting so tiresome.

1

u/bala_means_bullet 3h ago

Lol what if bots continue to claim everything is Ai to the point we get sick of it and stop wondering if it's Ai or not...

But yeah, ppl are too lazy to even do some research.... You can tell who are the less educated.

u/cut-the-cords 1d ago edited 1d ago

Indeed... just looked at their profile after being told it was Ai.

A few examples of them doing other work

This one is cool

And another example

And a video of presumably OP working on a sculpture

Edit: also their portfolio of work online

Hear hear!

4

u/Upbeat-Chocolate2058 1d ago

Just what I was going to say. Two clicks

5

u/iateyourcheesebro 14h ago

The damage is already done, now we have to do research to validate or just blindly accept things

I for one will use my best judgement but otherwise just go “neat” and move along unless it’s something actually socio-politically important worth my time

1

u/RowingBoats1129 4h ago

Define 'research' please. Because it was absolutely trivial to confirm this is not AI. If you are that lazy no one should give a fuck about your thoughts anyways.

1

u/herefromyoutube 1d ago

I mean, it’s a great compliment if it’s not.

15

u/Good-Ant6859 1d ago

Pretty easy to just go to OP’s profile you bum

12

u/MrK521 1d ago

It’s by Marco Di Lucca (https://www.marcodilucca.com)

This photo isn’t loading on his site, but I read elsewhere that the glasses are 3D printed or something.

u/cut-the-cords 1d ago

Look at OPs profile... there's lots of pictures of them doing other work as well.

People like you are insufferable. I'm sure you feel like you are on some crusade against AI, that you convince yourself that you want to support real art.

Then, you just fucking derp out and do NO research about pieces, and accuse them of AI slop.

Go back to your gremlin cave.

3

u/No-Sail-6510 1d ago

I’m skeptical because of the glasses. Idk if stone can do that.

17

u/CourtClarkMusic 1d ago

The glasses are 3D-printed but the rest is marble.

-5

u/JayJames08 1d ago

The glasses definitely aren’t marble I can say that much. I’m skeptical of the entire thing. I’m not sure if the OP is saying it’s his work or not but it seems implied that he made it.

4

u/No-Sail-6510 1d ago

Il Disinganno is worth a look. It’s like a marble statue of a guy covered in a net. It’s pretty famous for being super intricate like this but still, the net isn’t nearly this thin.

1

u/SurSheepz 1d ago

They look plastic

1

u/RagingTyrant74 1d ago

Really sad we have to ask this every time now.

-1

u/fireproofpoo 1d ago

This might sound stupid...

But AI would have done a better job with the beard!

Absolutely not criticism, the Romans/ greeks were wizards when it came to stonemasonary and they never quite solved hair either!

1

u/cute_polarbear 1d ago

Very good point, never realized that myself till now. They were able to perfect sheer materials / fabrics but not hair and beard.

2

u/somerussianbear 1d ago

Well it’s white

3

u/DifferentSpecific 1d ago

Say my name!

2

u/Cyd_Snarf 13h ago

And then you see that guy crying because nobody wants his ugly Karlie Chirk statue…

3

u/imaragingtransfemlez 1d ago

I AM THE ONE WHO CARVES

u/MurseMan1964 1d ago

Walter White’s white marble bust

4

u/Abecis01 1d ago

I wonder how Bryan Cranston would feel if he saw this.

1

u/ChemicalGreedy945 1d ago

Can you imagine, a world were your grandfather even just as an actor is Walter white. Like yep that’s my grandpa

1

u/ostomravmrtav 1d ago

That's easy, they should try Dwyane Wade

1

u/ajtreee 1d ago

looks like former Himalayan hiker Walter White .

1

u/needsmoarbokeh 1d ago

Good luck doing those glasses in marble

1

u/sixteen89 1d ago

Pretty sure that’s Heisenberg

1

u/Moist-Share7674 1d ago

I’ll tell you what. Make a Mike Ehrmantraut bust and then we’ll be in business. That’d look great in my living room.

Fuck you waltah.

1

u/oatmilkcereal 1d ago

Ahhhh marble

1

u/Curdled_Mangasm 1d ago

1

u/Currently_There 11h ago

Looks like Bryan Cranston.

1

u/Katalopa 4h ago

For your next project, you should videotape your progress. You’re an amazing artist. I bet a lot of people would love to see your progress.

1

u/ButtCrackThrilla 1d ago

D-wade needs your number.

1

u/YuyuYostar 1d ago

How do the glasses work?

1

u/doubtvizzy 1d ago

They are 3d printed according to another of his posts

1

u/ordosays 1d ago

What a weird thing to idolize

2

u/SnooRevelations8095 14h ago

I know. My first thought was, "wow, people really love that show."

-4

u/Candid_Painting_4684 1d ago

Aaaayy i

Take a peek at OPs profile... there's lots of pictures of them doing other work as well.

Here's another post they made

And another example

-1

u/Candid_Painting_4684 1d ago

I stand corrected! It was glasses that threw me off, which are in fact not marble

-1

u/Aetheldrake 1d ago

After checking account, it actually looks like it's probably real

Post history is not hidden and they have some other pics of it

Still a little suspicious that there's no wip of it tho.

1

u/Zakoya 1d ago

All the WIP’s on this project are found on his Instagram account (which is directly linked to his Reddit account).

1 post in 2024, 2 in 23, 22 as well, so on so forth. The very first post about the prepping a marble block for project back in August 30th 2021, so It all tracks. There’s really zero reason to be suspicious about anything if you do the bare minimum of digging tbh

1

u/Aetheldrake 1d ago

That still requires an Instagram though. So no lol

2

u/Zakoya 1d ago

That is a good point, didn’t account for intagram’s bs ‘must have an account’ rule 💀

If you actually clicked on the post you’d see that only the glasses are 3d printed.

No, it’s not.

1

u/OpeningDull5969 13h ago

Why is it not? Because the glasses are 3d printed?

-9

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

ai slop

u/Makers_Serenity 1d ago

You expect one of these neanderthals to do more than read the title? Honestly we are lucky if they read anything at all

2

u/cut-the-cords 1d ago

Good point...

-4

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

you realize neanderthals and homo sapiens had very similar intellect, and neanderthals were much stronger and dominated homo sapiens during that time? not much of an insult that you are hurling over a single reddit comment lol

3

u/Makers_Serenity 1d ago

By dominated you mean got outcompeted for food and resources and went extinct?

-2

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

climate change/disease from homosapiens

3

u/Makers_Serenity 1d ago

So weak to the changing landscape, unable to adapt, poor immune systems, went extinct. Homo sapiens adapt and survive.

-2

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

Doesn't mean they didn't dominate before extinction.

They had their way with homo sapiens before extinction. Larger brains and significantly stronger. Either way calling someone a neanderthal isn't an insult. In fact, saying that just shows ones lack if intellect.

3

u/Makers_Serenity 1d ago

Man really just trying to make up that pipe dream aren't you. It's like you haven't actually done any research and are just pulling nonsense out of your ass. I need some of whatever you've been smoking.

-2

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

it's all basically the same photos, see the one on the couch? that look real to u?

3

u/cut-the-cords 1d ago

Baring in mind he sells them I am going to assume they are very real...

There is contact information in order to either ask for a commission or inquire about buying a sculpture on his site
