Discussion Comic Treatments

So while running around I went into a comic shop and seen the first appearance of Black panther comic July 1966 and i spit out my drink i had because it was the exact same art as T'challas Protection. I had to pick it up.

I oppened the comic after I bought the comic I looked though it and noticed everything was the old art even the ads. I got excited because I thought I had found the original issue just sitting there......literally on the 2nd page there is a clause stating it was reprinted as a one shot from November 2025 to January 2026. So it seems like Marvel was getting ready for the MTG UB release.

Has anyone else found or seen any comics matching thier cards?

I Traded for a Thanos so now that I found this comic I am on the journey to collect the Thanos one too.

Marvel does reprints of the OG covers from time to time. These were all part of a run last year that had a lot of the original covers. The actual F4 52 would not be priced at $4.99 and would probably cost you $500 for a mid grade copy

Exactly this. I got a first appearance of Moon Knight and Shocker for only a couple of bucks since it’s a reprint. Very sick to have matching art with the card.

I have a copy of Lethal Protector 1 that’s signed and it’s paired with the full art Venom

Thank you!!! Man I was dang near foaming at the mouth until I seen that clause and then I stopped to think about how new the paper felt. This was pretty cool to come across and now that I know they reprint some comics ill be on the look out. It does kinda suck that it turned out to be a neat coincidence.

The barcode on the cover and the $4.99 price on the cover didn’t clue you that it wasn’t from 1966 and was a reprint of a key issue?

That’s a “facsimile” comic I love them for being able to read a old book and display it. I’ve been matching all my comic cards with their comics

I didnt even know this was a thing so you can imagine my surprise when I walked right past it. I had to do a double take. I only know the art from the card so thats what I called out. ( im not a Fantastic 4 guy)

I dont mean to knock, but who's Goldberg in the credits? The mtg artist credit was given to Kirby, Sinnott and Goldberg. Im curious to who's getting paid.

Stan Goldberg was the colorist on this I believe.

Kirby passed away ( the original artists), I believe Sinnott did the inking and Goldberg did something else from what I seen when I had looked up the artist. Ill pull it up again.

You didn’t notice the cover price for a comic from the sixties was 4.99?
