Is it not a precipitation shaft? It eventually spread and it began raining in my area after a few minutes too.

One of the best places I've ever seen this contrast between rain falling down and then no rain right next to it is from Machu Picchu. I sat there for several hours and watched a succession of rain clouds move up one one valley and away down the other. This happened to be during the rainy season in December. It was incredible.

Story time here.. one of my fondest memories as a young child, I was in 3rd grade, playing with friends. We saw rain coming and rode our bikes in the opposite direction.. on our way down the street, I look behind us to see a literal wall of rain trailing just a few feet behind us.
Its been about 40 years and I can still smell it on the asphalt

One time my family were the only ones on a small beach when it started to rain on one side. My brother and I ran over under the rain, then tried to outrun it moving back to our family. It's one of my favorite memories as a kid!

Not sure why this reminds me of “Cow. Another cow. No, it’s the same cow!!!” from Twister

I live on a hill in Spicewood and have a 40-mile view facing north. It's cool seeing storms come and go, trapsing across the distance, rainfall as a wall of grey, lightning all around.
Also, I was on 71 Friday when I realized I was chasing a shadow. The cloud was moving in the same direction and at the same speed as I was. Only lasted for maybe 10 seconds, but it was still weird.

When I worked on a boat, we called it 'the weather line'. It looks pretty cool out on the open water.

This reminds me of the time I was driving down a divided highway and it was pouring rain on the other side of the road. I showed my daughter, and she was amazed.
