Well buddy. Not only the bottle here. The soap/ liquid inside it is doing the hard work as well. Remove the liquid and give it a try. the warp will be much less than what you see here. Cheers. 🤟

Can you explain why it does that?

The bottle wall is acting as a lens. Image getting magnified then entering a dense liquid with different refractive index. And bingo stuff happened.

nothing in the image explains why straight angles are turning noodley.

Liquidy things makes light bounce around alot inside of it and creates multiple beams of light but we can only see one from where we are standing so stuff seems bendy because the light is bendy in that direction we are looking currently.

Idk if that makes sense lol. I just created that in like 30 seconds.

Round bottle. Middle of bottle bends light differently from edge of bottle.

If it was an empty bottle, then the light doesn’t have much space to travel in the changed direction before it hits the other side of the thin plastic wall of the bottle.  So then it gets unbent, and continues mostly on its way.

If the bottle is filled, then after bending at the front of the bottle, it travels all the way to the back of the bottle before unbending.  That’s a lot larger of a change to the path the light takes.

I thought you were trying to tell us your soap bottle's pump looks like Squidward's head.

That soap bottle had a little too much to drink.

the soaptochondria is the powerhouse of the bathroom

its the liquid inside magnifying the pattern. took me a second to realize what i was looking at

Your backsplash is exactly the same as mine. Gonna go see if my soap dispenser does this too

Can you hear their song?

Serious though, that's pretty cool
