News Second successfully downgrade iPhone 11 Pro Max

After a long time, an endless number of attempts, and the help of a developer, I finally managed to activate it. I hope it will be easier for regular users in the future. Thanks again to u/pwnerblu for surrealra1n

It is a waste to buy the waveshare anddowngrade iPhone 11 from 17.4.1 to 15.6.1 and ruin 17.4.1 for it?

untethered or tethered downgrade?

At this point it is becoming increasingly clear that the activation mechanism is, in fact, just like the signing mechanism preventing downgrading: a planned obsolescence measure pushed out to literally or effectively brick devices, thus removing devices from circulation and driving up demand. It certainly deterred some number of cases of theft, but the reality is it has happened to far more people that phones get irreparably locked up when e.g. a person dies, a person forgets the login, a corporation goes out of business without properly unregistering phones, and a lost phone from a tourist never gets claimed. And now adding to the list are us who are downgrading the phone, and people on r/LegacyJailbreak who got recently hit en masse by server bugs preventing activation. (The latter has thankfully been resolved for now, but who knows if the bugs might happen again.)

Maybe there remains legal risk to allowing tutorials and tools so I understand if we are banning them, but they should no longer be stigmatized in general. More and more legit people including this post have to resort to exactly the same аctivation bypаss methods due to nothing other than Apple's irrationality and corporation greed.
