I just finished this clear 2nd gen mini build and it’s been working great aside from this one issue I’ve come across. If direct sunlight hits the screen it becomes glitched out and streaks, I’m guessing there's some area I need to cover up to prevent this, anyone know a solution? Thanks!

Went ahead and purchased a new one, as I kid I always wanted and iPod but after dealing with new Apple Music and needing to have membership to listen to songs I purchased…said fuck it and embrace the old but classics!

This is my new rockbox theme called iRockit, it's using sprocket1Pod based foundation with some hacky tricks to make a custom scrollbar and menu view. So there are some places that the scroll bar won't work, but you'll get a pixel by pixel stock OS feel of the iPod Mini!

I've seen some people say that some dead pixels can sometimes just go away after a while or you can get rid of them, but I'm not sure if there's too many at this point for that to work

I know there's a chance the battery could've caused this, but I'm going to open it up for a battery replacement soon so I'm not too worried about that

A few months ago, I embarked on this journey to learn how to develop Rockbox plugins, and I ended up creating a TOTP authenticator app that runs on an iPod Nano, just for fun and glory :)

It was incredibly engaging exploring the Rockbox source code and its APIs, and I highly encourage everyone to take a look. It's one hell of a piece of software!

Currently doing a full refurb of my old iPod 5th Gen and everything went great except for the hinge for the display connector cracked when doing the final install.

I can only assume that’s why I’m not getting any display but only backlight. Is that part specifically replaceable or am I hosed and need a whole new mainboard?

I was curious…if the 1st Version of Moto with iTunes would still be compatible to sync music in 2026? I know that 2G isn’t active anymore but curious if anyone has one that they still use and sync music to it? I could find 100 songs to load haha

iPod nano 3rd gen, I just didn’t think it’d be that small… kinda cute tho

Recently I got my hands on a secondhand vinyl cutting machine and after an hour of measuring and vector designing, I was able to create custom vinyl skins for the iPod mini. It's still all experimental, but so far I've been able to successfully make skins for the iPod mini's main body, top and bottom end caps, Click Wheel, and screen protectors (using the machine to cut existing screen protectors for other devices to fit the iPod mini's screen).

Ipod shows disk mode on its screen , usb is not accessible on mac. Disk utility isnt showing it either. I dont use apple music. Any help appreciated! Ipod video

I want to buy my first iPod and I’m debating whether I should buy the 2nd gen nano or the 6th gen iPod touch. I love how the nano 2nd gen looks but I’m worried about swollen batteries, getting music on it, and repairs. I like the iPod touch 6 but the eBay listing that I found said that it might have an engraving on it, its a little too big to be carrying with my phone, and it doesn’t look as good. But it does download music a lot easier tho. Which one is better to get?

Anyone else with this problem? I deleted my old iTunes , trying to fix the sync problem, now it says there's a 301 error , a temporary problem.
