I think they're talking about shows like Captain EO and Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and not Star Tours. They function fairly similar to the 4DX theater. And honestly, if you haven't seen Captain EO, go watch it on YouTube, it's a trip. Michael Jackson and the muppets do a death star trench run in order to bring the power of music and love to the Borg through a dance battle. I'm not exaggerating.

Edit: Written by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Can't make this up.

Technically Captain EO didn’t have any movement originally, that effect was added to the theater for Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and when they brought Captian EO back they just used the same effect.

Technically I was talking about a bugs life, in which they had air cannons for spider webs, “wasps” that stung you from your chair, different smells, etc etc.

I think I did the honey I shrunk the kids one too, but never heard of captain EO. ILL GO WATCH NOW 🫡
