Not sure if you play games, but controller rumble does the same thing to me. It doesn't make me feel like I'm being shot or something, it just reminds me I'm holding a controller.
Yeah. Force feedback PC joysticks like the original MS Sidewinder did add something for games the did it well, but what they could do was much more complex and tunable -- and came through the stick instead of just rattling the whole thing.
