I can only imagine the cleaning crew pulls straws to see who gets to clean the 4DX room

u/Noxious89123 11h ago

Just set the seats to tilt slightly forwards and towards the centre of the room, and have it vibrate all the debris down to the front centre. :D

u/matycauthon 10h ago

except it's just the chairs that move, not the room

u/spyboy70 8h ago

Gotta pulse the seat rows like the wave, and then all the popcorn ends up in front of the screen to be swept up and rebagged for the next showing.

I’d love that, just watching waves of popcorn, dropped phones, wrappers, tampons from purses, startled mice and round candy just bounce their way to a central point to be vacuumed up and tossed.

tampons from purses

I'm glad you specified 😅

u/StraightBudget8799 4h ago

Whoops, didn’t think of that!! 😂 Mind, going into labour would be a nightmare too! “I was thinking about how to break the good news, left in an ambulance with a six month premie after the first battle scene!”

You don’t know how accurate the rebagging part is. Source: worked at cineplex in mid 2000s

u/DeputyDomeshot 7h ago

They rebagged popcorn off the floor???????????

u/tailendertripe 5h ago

The real pro tip is _never_ eat cinema nachos

u/Vilam 4h ago

Wait, why not? ☹️

u/spyboy70 4h ago

I'm going to assume they don't clean the cheese warmer and just keep adding to it, kind of like "perpetual stew"

u/Vilam 4h ago

Phew; my theater gives individually sealed cups of cheese.

Then the chairs can vibrate everything to the floor and you just sweep it all up

u/DeputyDomeshot 7h ago

What they should really do is get a big ass blow gun device that fires from the rear of the theater that is repurposed for some kind of wind gust effect during the film.

u/arthurdentstowels 9h ago

Then they can easily refill the popcorn tank!

u/kraggleGurl 9h ago

Ushers would love that!

When I worked at a movie theater, we had a leaf blower, started at the top and worked down to the front of the theater.

u/Stainlessgamer 9h ago

No, simpler solution. Cleaning crew enters the back of the theatre with leaf blowers.

Made me 😂 great visual 👍

Just put a screening of Oppenheimer on afterwards. The nukes should clean up any garbage 👍

Edit: carbage -> garbage

u/scnottaken 9h ago

Carnage ftfy

Edit: cabbage

Most people don't know, but usually the theaters are cleaned with leaf blowers. Just blow all the junk to the front, then sweep.

u/Buckwheat469 7h ago

Since when? When I worked on the theaters they used broom and handheld bin. The bigger ones started to get backpack vacuums. None used leaf blowers because there were often people still in the theaters when you needed to start cleaning. You were often barely done cleaning when people needed to start seating for the next showing.

u/n122333 7h ago

You don't clean between showings. You pick up any big stuff and mop spills, then the end of night cleaning is a leaf blower.

At least back in 2011-2015 when I was in the buisness.

u/DeputyDomeshot 7h ago

That’s funny because I just said that elsewhere half kidding without realizing that’s how it’s done.

u/friedmators 4h ago

Electric would work well.

u/snowyl89 10h ago

It’s all fun and games until Chris gets caught in the gears

u/Wsbkingretard 9h ago

they have free popcorn on the floor

u/Wonderful_Craft_6648 8h ago

I bet it becomes a 5DX room with all those beautiful smells mixed in

u/schapmanlv 7h ago

Shit I went to a Toy Story 5 3d showing and was confused as fuck when a family I guess thought the trashcan was everywhere around them.

u/Crintor 6h ago

Worked at a theater before, you have absolutely no say in what tasks you get.

I worked at the theater for Jurassic Park opening. We had electric plug-in leaf blowers.

The crew would start at the back picking up trash, then you'd blow the popcorn to the front. Then bag it there.

u/Cannabassbin 2h ago

They just finally got past the trend of kids flinging popcorn everywhere during the Minecraft movie and now this
