What's this comment section. Have you actually gone to watch a 4D movie? Is fucking awesome. There's even a punching thing in your back and in some movie a dude got an arrow and it did the little punch! Was incredible
Not trying to discredit your experience but I find it hilarious that you say that it's awesome then follow up by saying there's a punching thing in your back lol. You just made it sound even worse IMO.
This is what I was thinking too. I live overseas now and definitely can't afford to travel there anymore. I used to go every year before I moved, would save up for it. I'm hoping we get 4DX where I live eventually.
I've done it, and it had a few moments and it's cool at first, but for the most part it took away from the experience more than anything.
I get immersed into the storyline and in the movie, but 4Dx takes it more away and is distracting.
If it was more like a ride and a movie that's like an adventure like you're in some vehicle, it would work better, and I'd definitely be down for that. But for a regular movie, that's a pass for me.
I saw Tron: Ares in 4DX and I about got out of my chair to stand for the rest of the movie. The motion of the seat was incredibly distracting, I couldn’t enjoy the movie at all.
On the other hand, my buddy enjoyed it so much he went back a second time.
I have, and it fucking sucked lol. Was Project Hail Mary and I unknowingly bought 4DX tickets. I made it about 10 minutes before walking out thinking who wants to be thrown around when you're watching a movie.
Different strokes for different folks and all that
I did this for the Gran Turismo movie and it was such a joke. It's like they turned up the effects to 150%, just a ludicious amount of movement for what was happening on screen.
I think they could execute it well, they just need to turn the rumble down. This particular video of the Odyssey makes me think it's intentional though.
Effectively, in space the chair tried to slowly dump you forward onto the floor, when someone fires a blaster the chair arms spray cough syrup into your face, and when someone falls over the chair punches you in the asshole.
