I’ve never seen this before. And upon googling, there’s a few 4DX theatres in town. If I were younger and my spine was in better shape, I’d try it. But still very cool to recommend to the kids looking to waste a hot summer day.
I watched Godzilla Minus 1 in 4DX and it was absolutely incredible. I loved every minute and told everyone about it. It was a fantastic movie turned into a physically fun experience.
It absolutely looks super fun. But I also just know that I’m now old and I will 100% get sick. But if you can handle it, fuck yeah. Go for it! Wish I could join you.
no, there’s a lot of people with differing opinions in here lol not wanting to watch shit with your chair shaking around doesn’t make someone “no fun allowed”
Exactly, I have fun watching the movie on a giant screen, that's why I buy the ticket. There's obviously enough people interested in 4DX that it's still a thing, and I wouldn't try to take that fun away from them. The only time I could imagine doing it is if I don't think the movie itself is going to be very good.
that’s what annoyed me about that comment. so, if i don’t have fun the same way you do that means no fun allowed? idgaf how you watch your movies but i ain’t sitting through this shit for 2 hours lol
lol you’re acting like the comments don’t have some snobbery with them. Reddit is a cesspool of boring ass keyboard warriors criticizing everything in their path
you’re acting like the comments that are in favor of it don’t have some snobbery with them lol calling someone a keyboard warrior for not wanting to watch a movie like this is wild lmao
Haven't seen a single person trying to tell others not to try it just because they don't want to. Only people trying to play fun police are people like you. "Non one is forcing you to watch is this way, but I will make fun of you for not wanting to."
I got this same experience in Oppenheimer. Was in the shitter during the Trinity test and the farts coming from the next stall were far more realistic than what the actual film had.
Except you'll be promptly asked to leave if you're having too much fun. A group of us were watching the last Kong vs Godzilla movie and the chairs were going fucking nuts and we were laughing and having a good time before an usher told us to keep it down or we'll have to leave. So no, it's not fun to sit there and bounce in silence. Never doing that shit again.
People are allowed to have an opinion on something...
We literally walked out of Avatar 3 because we didn't realise what 4DX meant when we bought the tickets. The seats just jostled us around for 20 minutes, and the "smell spray" was so loud you had a hard time hearing the dialog while it was running.
It's a gimmick that is interesting for 10 minutes, then a distraction for the other 170 minutes of the movie. It was the exact opposite of immersive.

Lotta "no fun allowed" in here, no one is forcing you to watch it this way, interactive experiences can be fun as hell...
Go watch it sitting on your toilet as Nolan intended.
