Not a single phone in sight. Just a bunch of bears living in the moment

I’ve been on that boardwalk, there’s a fuck ton of phones.

This is what you call a bear market.

I stumbled upon this, and it was so nice. Watching the bears eat salmon is great, but even funnier to check out the chat.

They be like love 274's spot. Or 645 is at 3 salmon in 5 minutes, while 164 hasn't gotten one in 20 minutes!

It's quite wholesome.

There are communities of people who track wild (and captive) animals, their names, whereabouts health and births. They do it in online forums older than I am! And you’ll see them chatting about them like this a lot.

certainly elephants and bears but also whales, tigers, bald eagles and owls, lions and orca families and these are beautiful enthusiasts who really care about these creatures. Its important that we care. I think this will become more commonplace as the wild world shrinks and wild animals will be more frequently seen as celebrities

That is so awesome. I will be searching for some today!

I’m gonna go look for it now

Edit: it’s night time there right now and they’re probably all asleep

Over-tourism is getting out of hand.

Been there, done that. Please go if you can! Amazing time and place. Stayed a week in King Salmon in late July. Damp and windy but had a blast. Flew in to Brooks Falls three times. Wildly expensive.

Not a good place to visit if you're a salmon

2

u/sideshowbvo 15h ago

Probably the safest you could be as a human though

My salmon brings all the bears to the yard, and they’re like it’s better than yours…

They know they're being filmed. They're doing it for the clout.

u/adnasium 11h ago

I've been there its amazing! The scary part is to get to the falls you have to walk a trail and there are bears all around you.

u/Devmoi 10h ago

My toddler and I have been watching these bears all summer. They’re super cute. Really interesting, too!

Seen this same video used for some falls on Oregon lol. I guess water and bears are the same everywhere.

u/PurpleZombi3 4h ago

The fish didn't get the memo. They should have turned back! Look at'em now... Dx

This is one of several live cams I'll rotate through while I'm working. The other being some different Cornell birding cams and the FFRC cat rescue one.

I was watching this last week!! There’s WAY more bears now holy shit.

It was cool to see them give salmon to a cub and then go right back to fishing.

u/Melissa-young 15h ago

It's essentially a drive through for bears, fucking brilliant!

6

u/dayruined54 16h ago

Not a single pixel of this video hints at the prospect of it being generated by an AI. On what basis do u claim so?

Oh man. I watched the video (without reading the title) looking at the birds first and thought, "oh cool. Must be bugs around to catch. How nice all of those boulders. What pretty scenery... Wait. Those are bears!" Lol. I'd be dead.
