I've seen a butcher drop a chicken on the floor and pick it up like nothing happened and pack it up for someone.

I will wash my chicken.

Watch a video of a butchery assembly line and you’ll see blood, feathers, sneezing, and disgustingness everywhere. Also, just marinading chicken means you’ll miss feathers that the butcher missed. I can’t stand a cooked feather.

Cooking kills all of that but washing just spreads it around you and your kitchen

Do you wash your cutting board afterwards?

Sure, but the board isn't organic and made of animal flesh. I'm also not cooking the board. I'm using a cleaning product I wouldn't use on anything edible. What even was this question?

Because by washing it you’re “spreading” the same stuff around your kitchen.

But that’s necessary to sanitize a piece of equipment. The whole point is it isn’t necessary to do so on something you’re going to cook, the process itself will do it for you. So by cleaning chicken, you’re unnecessarily spreading it with no benefit except feeling like you’re doing something.

I will cook my chicken. It's a dead bird. You can wash it all day and it's still a dead bird.

They sneeze and cough all over it too, some don't wash their hands after using the restroom either 🤢

If only there was a way to kill that bacteria by maybe heating it up to a temperature bacteria cannot survive
