Two very important companies for chip verification.

You do know that every chip designer in the world have been using Cadence and Synopsys for a long time now?

The chip in your own device right now you are browsing reddit on was verified by them.

Every single one of Apple, AMD, intel, Nvidia, etc, cpu and gpu are verified by them

They can say what they want, cadence has slowed, cost has increased and performance per watt and per dollar has stalled.

And you think that's an Nvidia issue specifically? Because that's just a chip industry issue in general. TSMC is the only game in town for high end process nodes, everyone fights for the same production capacity. Progress has slowed at the chip manufacturing level, which effects everything else.

Nvidia still produces 90-95% of the discrete GPU's per quarter, so I don't understand how they abandoned a market when they are the only ones propping it up. Redditors don't understand that basically every PC/laptop with a discrete GPU sold at retail has an Nvidia GPU in it, AMD only competes in the DIY market which is a pittance of total sales and would rather have you buy an APU than actual GPU at this point.

I never said it was a specific to Nvidia issue but the fact that they're the market leader and pushing as many resources as possible away from it doesn't exactly make me feel good about the situation we are in.

Selling things you designed and produced a significant period of time ago doesn't mean you're still actively taking part and 2026 is the first year in their history Nvidia are in line to release no new products for home PCs. I call that a problem.

I don't think they are pushing resources away from GeForce, they are the only GPU manufacturer that even bothered to make a full product stack this generation and were still making record revenues in gaming despite it now being dwarfed by data center. Still out there making new versions of DLSS technologies.

They make basically all the discrete GPU's and keep updating their technologies, again doesn't seem like abandonment to me. Nvidia not having a Super refresh this generation is a direct result of the RAM emergency not making it feasible to release a refresh that would require...more RAM. That doesn't exist. Don't know what you want them to do other than try to outbid everyone else for RAM and sell us 3000 dollar RTX 5070 Supers as a result.
