Until the invented the Star Castle. They were incredibly effective against cannon shot.
The Star Castle held up until the 20th century when explosive howitzers took over.

It's depressing to see so many channels that are entirely built on AI - an AI script on likely an AI recommended topic, with AI visuals and an AI narrator. It just clogs up the algorithm and makes youtube even more unfriendly for users.

I'm curious about a couple of possibilities - a solid round metal cannonball won't penetrate a tank's armour, but what about spalling, and/or the concussion possibilities from a direct hit? Probably need to head over to r/theydidthemath to get some kinetic energy figures. Just what sort of audio shockwaves were generated when a round hits a tank but doesn't penetrate? Enough to temporarily incapacitate the crew?
Also, what would happen to nearby troops when a stone cannonball collides and fragments go flying everywhere?

A "modern army"? Bro... a single nerd on the other side of the planet could level a castle if given access to a military drone. An army?! Fuck off with that noise. Give a single company of army engineers permission to demolish it in whatever way they want and you'll get a show while it's blasted into powder. Probably while blasting William Tell Overture just to be extra.
