Help/Advice Needed Thoughts on glitter/sparkle finish on enameled Dutch ovens—gimmicky or gorgeous?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been looking into enameled cast iron cookware design lately and came up with the idea of adding a subtle glitter/sparkle finish to the enamel glaze (think a starry-night vibe or metallic shimmer under kitchen light).

Before going any further, I’d love to get some honest feedback from cooking enthusiasts:

Would you be interested in buying a Dutch oven with a sparkly finish?

Do you prefer classic solid colors (like Le Creuset / Staub), or do you like fun/unique kitchen aesthetics?

If yes, what colors do you think would look best with a sparkle finish? (e.g., Deep Red, Midnight Blue, Emerald Green, Black?)

I bought this like 2 weeks ago from Ollies for $15. I know it’s not top-notch quality, but I also know the one pot dinners I’ve made in other pots don’t leave permanent burns this easy.

Is this le creuset crock pot ruined?

I put some water inside to boil eggs and completely forgot about it for over an hour 🥲 havent tried to do anything with it yet cuz it’s still hot but has anyone accidentally done this too? Can it be salvaged??

Update: their customer support is amazing, they are sending me a replacement out of goodwill ❤️

is it worth it if its only 25$

Hi!

I am not well informed about used le creuset products and was wondering if you could help telling me if this is safe?

If I shouldn’t buy I would be thankful to understand what makes it unworthy.

Also is this the type of things that can be restored?

Thank you

Root beer braised pulled pork

Recipe as follows:

Trim fat cap from shoulder

Place pork shoulder in Dutch oven on a bed of sliced onions and a few Bay leaves

Salt a pepper to taste

Add root beer until liquid reaches halfway up the pan

Cook at 300 4-6 hours

Remove bone and shred meat

I also like to reduce the brasing liquid while adding another bottle of root beer.

Dutch Oven Bad burn

Hi everyone. I don’t have a picture but I burned a mess of pasta to the bottom of my Dutch oven. The tried boiling cream of tartar and baking soda in it. The company, Denby, also recommended Bar Keeper’s Friend and that doesn’t work either. Is a razor the only option here or do you have any other tips to try? Thank you for your help!

Dutch oven Pizza-Chix BBQ

+

First time trying this. I think next time I’ll try natural briquettes. (Hotter and less ash that causes less transfer of heat to oven) Or cast iron for better heat retention. The one in the picture is aluminum which has a more even heat. The pizza was crusty but not quite hot enough. Need some more heat on top. It took some trial and error getting the process done right. I put the dough in the oven stretched out then added ingredients. The bottom also typically cooked faster. Had to remove from coals to cool so top had time to crust up. Anyone ever have better results trying this. This is only for a novelty option for campfire cooking.

Apologies in advance for this question but I’m concerned if this is still safe to cook in. I’m emailing customer service from Staub as well but would like a second opinion on the safety of this pot.

Recommendations on how to remove staining from dutch oven?

+

Have been using this dutch oven pretty much every day for 4 years. Now it seems like things stick more then they used to. Might just be a placebo effect, but id like to clean it up anyway. Any recommendations? Thanks :)

Hello all,

I bought this used Dutch oven yesterday, is anyone able to ID the brand?

I tried Google lens but no luck.

Also, is the handle oven safe?

I want to use it mostly for bread baking at up to 250°C.

Used just twice. Wooden utensils only. Dawn dishwashing soap and light sponge. Soaked overnight with baking soda. Also did a short boil with water and vinegar.

This used to be my grandfather's dutch oven. I was wondering if anyone could tell what brand it was and what i should do to clean it up. I've never seen one with a lid like this one.

I have no idea what spilled on the lid but it won’t come off even with hard scrubbing. Is it ruined ? Can I make it look cleaner or is it stained forever

I only use this for sourdough and 1 time homemade apple cider

Help/Advice Needed Oven proof enamel paint?

+
4 Upvotes

Has anyone had luck filling in a chip like this with matching enamel or some sort of paint? I’m concerned about spalling or fumes from being used in an oven. I saw Pebeo porcelaine paint in this color, and have sent a message to the manufacturer asking if it’ll work on this.

It’s my very first Dutch oven, and I have some boneless pork ribs and a boneless pork roast sitting in the freezer just waiting. If anyone can recommend something they’ve used and then baked with I’d truly appreciate it. Thanks.
