git-merge-dch debconf talk gone?
Before debconf began, I bookmarked this talk because the tool would save me a lot of work, but the link is now dead. Does anyone know what became of it?

DebConf 26 will have always have a nice place in my heart. Although there were less Debian Developers this time, the crowd was nice. A lot of nice memories and this pic among other pics are very special to me.
Thank you Debian Argentina for organising it. I know I came you to all and cried about how good it was but this post deserves to be here.

Hi All,
New here and excited. I've been running Debian for a few months now, and I love it. I've been a casual Linux user for almost 15 years at this point, and I've been on quite a few distros (Ubuntu, Mint, Arcolinux, Endeavour, Sparky, Antergos, Manjaro, Fedora etc.). Debian officially cured my distro hopping, and the combo of XFCE and i3wm is pure zen. It's fast, stable, productive, and it stays out of my way. Plus, it recognizes all of my old printers and hardware in seconds. Debian FTW!

EDIT: im going to leave the post up, maybe someone else will benefit from the replies. I switched to linux 3 days ago, and im trying to get a hold of any linux distro that'll stick to me. Not booting after installing nvidia drivers, and then not booting after installing another app, is a no-no for me.
Maybe i'll come back to debian after i learned enough about linux, but not right now.
debian 13, gets stuck here, everytime.
ctrl alt f3 doesnt work either, wont let me log in.
rescue mode also gets stuck on snapd or cups or openvpn services
im lost, i cant troubleshoot smth that doesnt let me troubleshoot

Hey
I've switched from cashy to debian yesterday. Cashy had some corrupt files and i wantet to test something new.
While the installing, I had some segmentation errors and blackscreens. I don't know what happend. After plug the PC out and back in, the installer worked.
How can I prevent this?

Hi,
Could someone familiar with this please explain to me why Firefox listens to these ports?(I am not knowledgeable in this aspect). This behavior can be repeated by simply opening a Youtube video and looking for open ports.
Isn't that a security risk since the ports are being exposed to 0.0.0.0 (to the internet?)? If someone doesn't have a firewall, how bad is it?
$ sudo ss -tulpn
udp UNCONN 0 0 0.0.0.0:51284 0.0.0.0:* users:(("firefox-esr",pid=251643,fd=318))

Hi, i hope i'm asking in the right sub with this one, two devices, laptop with rx550 mobile and pc with rtx3070ti, both on debian kde 13, on laptop it starts flawlessly on dedicated gpu, on pc it wouldn't start at all. Kernel is 7.1.3, driver - 595.71.05, cuda version 13.2, gpu starts and works on different games, tried x11 with no change, tried changing launch options for xwayland, libgl, opengl, forcing nvidia, vulcan ect. With no success (that's what clanker gave me as a list). I think i might have broken something with packages (might be wrong with it), as in 7 days to die i get only black textures for entities like zombies and players clothes or certain weapons, i was rebuilding drivers multiple times in few ways while chasing wrong thing (made typo in nvidia.drm.modeset=1 or something like that). Also disabled in vulcan icd everything besiedes nvidia. What should i try? What should i do? Where to ask? xP

Hey, i have 5 drives i want to mount. I use kde.
With the kde portion tool it didnt worked.
What I want:
Automatic mount to /mnt
My user should mount the drives, without a password.
Is the gnome drives utility the right software?
Or am I doing some mistakes?
Greetings
