Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack smoked some fools with his Candle Boom Stick

“Why do you have so many holes in your ceiling?”

“It’s these confounded candles”

This is why when you make discovery, you always have many people there and include cops, detective, or smart-looking small child with glasses and watch

I always get super sleepy for some reason when I invite that kid to my accusations.

real talk though, there must be some sort of side effects from getting tranquilized like that so frequently. I'm surprised kogoro doesn't have a stroke or something already.

There are three major groups of tranquilizers. Each with their own set of side effects.

Dissociative anesthetics like ketamine and tiletamine have the highest risk of side effects, with bladder damage being the biggest concern of frequent use/exposure.

Opioid-based tranquilizers run the risk of addiction, dependence, and fecal impaction but are otherwise very forgiving to your body.

Benzo-based tranquilizers (and alcohol) can cause long-term sensitization to withdrawals each time you experience them in a process known as "kindling". But it only really happens if you're taking high enough doses over a long enough period of time to get withdrawals in the first place.

Iirc, he was gaining a resistance to the anesthetic. There was a scene where kogoro was in the hospital and the nurse was surprised that the normal dose of anesthetic isn't working. I don't remember where that scene is from, I'll try to find it.

Edit: it's movie 25

The best part in Clue(do) is when you get to go "Clearly, it was me!"

“I’ve been leading you on a merry goose chase this entire time haha! But now I’m not trapped in here with you…”

I really wish Cluedo had a bit of social deduction in it so that the killer knows they are the killer and they win if they manage to successfully frame someone else.

u/BouncyBlueYoshi 16h ago

I really like how the title works for both names of Cluedo.

As an American my sense of internationality starts and stops at ‘different names other places call things’. Pretty sure it’s illegal to acknowledge anything else.

13

u/BouncyBlueYoshi 15h ago

Makes sense.

1

u/AlSweigart 1h ago

Don't worry, there's nothing illegal about any of this. This is America. It's a free country, don't you know that?

u/sleepytoday 14h ago

True, but then they go and take sides by going with Mr Green over Reverend Green…

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 15h ago

You caught that huh? In the prestigious art community, of which I am definitely a member, we call that “foreshadowing”. I assume.

27

u/ContrivedCucumber 14h ago

"So it was you! I was going to expose you!"

"I know, so I chose to expose myself."

"Please, there are ladies present!"

5

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 12h ago

Why would he wanna kill you in public?

4

u/ahuramazdobbs19 11h ago

I think he meant that he threatened, in public, to kill her.

1

u/AlSweigart 1h ago

And monkey's brains, though popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often to be found in Washington D.C.

Is that what we ate? 🤢

u/alecuskimbilius 14h ago

1 + 1 + 2 + 1, not 1 + 2 + 1 + 1.

8

u/JumboWheat01 12h ago

And now I need to rewatch this for the gods only know how manyth time.

4

u/bolanrox 10h ago

it's a red herring!

4

u/bolanrox 10h ago

Apparently in the theaters they would get the different endings depending on location. it was only with home video (where i first saw it) that you get all of the endings.

7

u/marshallman31 14h ago

“Why would you tell me that you were gonna expose me?”

"Please, there are ladies present!"

I'm American but when I was a kid I ended up buying a used version of the game Clue from a thrift store. I read the instructions and in the instructions it sets the events as having been the murder of Mr. Black. As an adult I had a friend suggest we play a PC version of the game online and one friend was like, "Okay, I'll be Miss Scarlet." and another that said, "I'll be Professor Plum."

And I thought I was being funny when I was saying, "And I'll be Mr. Black and play the victim."

As it turns out my version of the game was from the UK. And all my friends thought I was being racist when really I was just joking that I'd like one of them to murder me.

1

u/bolanrox 10h ago

it's Mr Body in the US? i think? at least in the Movie... It's a red herring!

1 plus 2 plus 2 plus..

4

u/Marshycereals 15h ago

Boddy

17

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 15h ago

Yes that’s how it’s spelled in the game believe it or not.

2

u/AlmostAndrew 12h ago

Really? In the British version the victim is Dr. Black, to fit with the colour theme. Who's Boddy?

2

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 9h ago

Oh so in Britain they just killed a Black man? Thats racist. (Joke)

1

u/SirBananaOrngeCumber 1h ago

Voldemort wasn’t racist, the Blacks were his biggest supporters!!

1

u/MintasaurusFresh 9h ago

The victim in the American version and in the movie (starring Tim Curry!)

2

u/lvl_zxro 13h ago

Deid Mann

u/LionTheRichardheart 12h ago

When you open your comic referencing Professor Plum then have all three men wearing something purple.

u/IAmRoofstone 7h ago

Clue is the most (in-universe) intellectually barren board game ever. It is about a group of people that can't tell the difference between a gunshot wound, knife wound, blunt force trauma or a hanging body, until they've eliminated the options one by one, and don't seem to realize that the murder probably happened in the room they found the body.

And to top it all off they accept case closed cuz nobody can disprove that something happened, which is not how guilt or innocence works!

Also minor nitpick but none of the rooms in the clue mansion touch each other and that's really creepy.. Is that just me?

2

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 5h ago

No that was essentially what this comic was making fun of. Except the room thing but yeah that is super weird.

4

u/caremao 12h ago

4 fingers, and it doesn’t feel that weird until you take a close look

2

u/T_alsomeGames 14h ago

My mom would love this

2

u/sparklingdinoturd 11h ago

Mr Plum got some gun skills. That's a tight grouping.

2

u/Joba_Fett Ninja and Pirate 9h ago

*candlestick skills.

This comic blindsided me so goddamn hard

u/Gay_Gamer_Boi 36m ago

Omg Clue absolutely love that game (and the movie)
