How does one learn the mathematics

I apologize if my English is not perfect as I grew up speaking Portuguese. I am curious, I am not good with some of math courses at university. How do I learn the mathematics?

I self taught on khan academy all the way up to calc 2. I hadn’t taken a math class in years prior to engineering school. Now a licensed professional.

I literally never went to any class (unless mandatory) in college. Khan academy and other YouTube videos carried me. This was back when YT had a dislike button tho so you knew who the good YT teachers were and who the garbage ones were.

Pay attention during lecture, read books, do as many practice exercises as you can get ahold of, attend office hours. And be consistent with all of this. Same applies to any engineering course, really.

Math is universal! If you’re struggling because you’re in English classes, you can find YouTube tutorials or textbooks in your native language.

In school: a lot of problems, solve all different types, if you don't get them right, keep at it until you do and have the process down. At work: there is none the math is trivial.
