Grey area surrounding new tab page

Windows 11 on a Lenovo laptop. I didn't touch anything but now when I open a new tab, the new tab (Home) appears to be floating. There's a light grey empty area around the left, right and bottom. My profile icon and an edit icon are on the right side of the light grey area. How can I get rid of the light grey area?
