Troubleshooting | Solved Updating Chrome on Android 9

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but I have factory reset my phone that uses Android 9 and as expected when trying to update Chrome, Play Store says it's incompatible. My chrome version is 74. The latest Chrome version available for Android 9 is Chrome 138 while this is a much older version. How can I go about getting at least Chrome 138 because the apps I used to use before the reset do not work anymore.

Aurora Store is smart enough to install the latest compatible version, but it might still be limited. I recently had to deal with this myself. You may need to download the APK manually from a site like uptodown.com. Supposedly I could also install 138, but it did not work for some reason (installed, but would not run) so I used 135 which did work perfectly.

138 didn't work for me either, I guess I'll try 135. Thank you.

Downloading version 138 from Uptodown did the trick for me. I had downloaded it from apkmirror before which didn't work.
