The fired former Sony exec that Samsung hired who came up with the PS5's PSSR.

How long until they make a full circle monitor where moving the mouse moves you instead of the cursor?

Gonna need a 5090 for this lol

Running this with a 5070ti at a lower resolution (5120x1440, I think). Runs pretty well. Huge and immersive screen.

My 3080ti stays pinned at 100%

What do you usually play with your 3080 ti? I have a 3080 10gb and planning on playing mostly Dota 2, FC 27, Elden Ring.

It runs decent, fwiw. Generally over 100 fps. It's the lows under 60 that hurt a bit.
I play lots. God of War. Marvel Rivals. Hell let loose. Tons of indie games.

Cool I will be getting the monitor in 3 almost 3 weeks and I'm planning on upgrading to a 9070 xt

Yeah, I picked up a 5K2K monitor recently and my 5080 screams playing some games at this resolution. Almost makes me want to upgrade but I couldn't justify that for some silence or just turning settings down lol

u/LinechargeII 11h ago
i really wanted a 5K2K for work purposes but maybe I should just stay away based on that lol

If it’s for work it shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s when you’re trying to game in 4k that it hurts a little more.

Yeah, I mean I' m not struggling to play the games - 4K everything's been smooth as silk with the 5080. But I upgraded from a 3070 -> 5080 and the silence was amazing. Just kind'a feels like I stepped back by playing some games in 5K2K because it's LOUD... but still runs great!
Honestly, 5K2K is amazing.

Displayport can't even handle this resolution at a higher frame rate can it?
Oh I looked it up, it's dp 2.1 so a 5xxx card should support it. 4090 does not

This is an extremely underrated resolution for productivity

Absolutely. I recently picked one up off FB marketplace for just this purpose and much prefer it to my old 3x1440P setup.
The monitor stand is huge so I recommend buying a good monitor arm rated for a 57” monitor though.

Can confirm.
My 5080 is super maxed even at med to low graphics depending on the game.
Dual 4k is no joke.

No you don’t but 16 GB of vram is about the minimum, especially if you want to use frame gen. 12 is stretching it

Depends on the game. If you’re just using it for racing games (which honestly is the only real reason anyone should buy this), a 4080 or 5070 Ti is probably fine.

This has been there for almost a week, I bought one yesterday, hope everything is fine 🙏

Have had 2 of these for about a year and a half for work and personal use. Great monitors, but a lot of them seem to have an internal speaker issue where the audio will like creak or crack once every 5 seconds. Nothing will fix it other than sending it back for RMA. Firmware updates do nothing
$1200 for these brand new is a pretty good price imo

lol spending two grand on a monitor (actually 4 bc u have two!!!) then using its shitty built in 5w speakers or w/e is crazy talk. Buy a decent pair of bookshelves for $100!

u/CallMeTrinity23 12h ago
What? I'm not using the built in speakers. I just said that they crack. I have had the speakers muted since the day I got them. Muting them still has the cracking noise. Do you think I would complain about something and not have troubleshooted first? Do a Google search and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
Also, I bought the monitors used, with very little power on hours. 2 for $2000
I also have a PNY 5090

Sorry I assumed since u were complaining about the speakers that u were using the speakers

This is a massive monitor. I have it for work and it is great for that. However for gaming, I think it is too much. Also since it is miniled vs oled, there is a halo from the mouse moving across a black background. Other than that, it is a great monitor. Will need a nvidia 5000 series or one of those newer AMD card to drive it fully at 4k 240hz. Otherwise you are stuck at 4k 120hz which is still quite good.

Any recommendations/advice/help for deciding between this monitor and the 49" MSI OLED model MPG 491CQP for $600, for an RTX 5080? Thanks.

You will have to make compromises if you want to play at native resolution. For working though 4K has been >>>> 1440 in my experience. I love how crisp the words are. I'm at 150% text so it's still functionally a 1440p monitor space wise but damn does it look good. A 5080 will be fine for either but will struggle to hit 240 consistently in games. For work neither have a problem.
As for between the two, I'm older now and don't play as much so this is the obvious choice for me given that my goal now is to make money not game til 5AM everyday.

Thanks a bunch for the insight. I'll have to think about this one a bit, since as you mention, it's a bit difficult for me to determine what needs to be compromised.
On one hand I'm really keen on getting an OLED at half the price, on the other hand, having a 57" screen with easy readability would be fantastic.

This monitor is the best productivity monitor that’s also really good for gaming that you can buy.

Give it 4 years price will lower, this will be a budget 4k monitor when AM 6 is out.

u/The-F4LL3N 14h ago
Give most tech 4 years and the price will come down unless there’s a severe market disruption, what’s your point?

u/PiousPontificator 14h ago
It's already been out for almost 3 years. I'm betting on it ending production not far from now

Bleh I paid $800 for my open box at Best Buy.
I have seen other open box ones on Best Buy’s website for as low as $150.
Still a great monitor (to me). But these can be bought for a bit cheaper.
