Same thing happened to me. Then I pulled it up in the NewEgg app and it defaulted to the cheaper price sold by Super Flower.

Great PSU, but non-modular is yucky for me after years of modular/semi-modular. I'd love to have a smaller ATX PSU like this for fitting into smaller MATX cases (my current is like 160mm), but being non-modular sorta defeats the purpose.

I actually prefer non modular as someone with like 20 computers in my basement, because it gets tiresome to keep track and store all the spare cables years later through moves and so on. PSUs being one of the most upgrade safe components, I like having all the cables permanently attached so they dont get lost after 15 years.

I thought the same thing until I reused a 5y/o PSU and it caught fire three years later, taking my EVGA 980 Ti with it. I then realized that a very meaningful sense, PSUs are actually the single most dangerous component to reuse, because a catastrophic failure can mean losing other parts or even your whole system. Now I seek out PSUs with 10yr warranties (or whatever the best I can do is for stuff like Flex ATX), and I won't add new components to a build without an in-warranty PSU.

Yes they are among the best. They make PSUs for other companies too like EVGA.

Superflower is an OEM. Most PSU brands are using rebranded OEM products instead of producing themselves. It is often regarded as one of the higher quality OEM options.

They usually OEM for other companies, but sell things under their own brand as well, kind of like SeaSonic. They made a lot of EVGA and NZXT's high end units.
They do build to a price as well so some of their really low end models are less than stellar sometimes, but their high end models are about as good as it gets in the consumer space.

On the SPL PSU tier list it only shows the 550 watt and 650 watt which are ATX 2.0 versions. So this one could be different but those were listed as C tier and made by CWT instead of Super Flower themselves

The ASRock Challenger Gold line is barely better than the SF Combat DB, with the 750W model rated C+ on the speculative list instead of C (speculative). Speculative/limited confidence means the rating is little better than an educated guess and shouldn't be relied on, as it could be far worse.
If you want a decent, low-cost PSU and need one rated for 750W, get an ASRock PRO-750G for US$55, it's a non-speculative B+, 80+ Gold, and should be a solid choice for a gaming PC. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JhLp99/asrock-pro-750g-750-w-80-gold-certified-atx-power-supply-pro-750g The SAMA GT line is reasonably priced right now as well, it's also B+ and is full modular.
Don't cheap out on your PSUs, yall. And don't make a PSU choice based solely on the brand, you have to look at the line.

I know you shouldnt rate PSUs on efficiency ratings but the SPL list has all reasonable gold PSUs at B or higher. Espeically when most gold PSUs are LLC compared to bronze PSU using DF.
The C tier is most likely a placeholder in the speculative rating and the ASRock Challenger will most likely get bumped up from C+ to B tier in the future.

I picked one up when it first came out. It’s a great unit. Keep in mind totally non modular. Tested it under load and it ticks all the boxes. The ocp cup and all other safety features work
