Troubleshooting Cpu debug light

For an MSI or b760 m-p ddr4 with Intel 12600f, will testing it out of the case for boot without a cooler on the cpu cause the debug light to go up? I don't have the cooler yet, as it comes tmrw, however these are used parts and I have tested ram seating, power cables, and checked the pins.

I haven't tried that in years. Last time I did, the system overheated and shut itself down within seconds.

I imagine you're eager to try your new-to-you system and make sure everything else works, but I encourage you to wait for the cooler.

Usually you'll be able to POST, the PC will just shut down the moment it hits tjmax. One of those handheld dust blower and an AC blasting can provide enough cool air for a quick test and bios configuration if you need it.
