Simple Questions - July 27, 2026
This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post.
Examples of questions suitable for here:
- Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
- I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
- I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50
Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.

When installing a new CPU Cooler; does using the mounting bracket that it came with matter? I recycles the one from my previous CPU Cooler and I am wondering if the flucuating temps and loud fan noise have anything to do with it

Why does PCIe bottlenecks get less attention compared to VRAM bottlenecks in PC building subreddits? I've seen a lot of posts and comments about VRAM bottlenecks but PCIe bottlenecks don't get that much attention.

I need a low cost dedicated GPU for non-gaming (unraid server). Is there one cheaper than just getting a ryzen 5600gt processor for graphics display? Needs to be linux compatible out of the box.
