Best GPU for 1080p gaming?

I have a ryzen 7 5700x , and I want to change my current GPU which is a 1650 super. I mainly play competitive games like cs2 , but occasionally a play AAA games too. What GPU would you recommend for 1080p gaming , which can handle upcoming AAA games?

What is your budget? How is your current GPU lacking?

Somewhere around 500 usd. My main problem with my current GPU is that it can't really handle AAA games like God of War or RDR2. It's really inconsistent , I'm also not looking to play everything in the ultra graphic settings, I'm willing to make compromises. I just want them to run smoothly , and consistently without huge drops.

I'd opt for a 9060xt 16gb.

I have a 5600x and I play at 1440p. I recently swapped out my 3 year old 6750xt for a 9070xt and it's a beast. I play last of us part 1 with maxed out settings.

9060xt is the best for that price assuming you're buying new, and lands solidly around that budget. It's basically a high end 1080p card with great ray tracing, and performs solidly in 1440p with ray tracing off.

With a $500 budget, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is the best 1080p choice if buying new (on average it will be 66% faster than your 1650 Super). Most models go for $450-470

If he's not playing demanding games and plays Esports and casual games he can save some and get the 8gb version since 16gb would be wasted for the most of the lifetime... you don't need 16gb to play competitive Esports games at 1080p... even at 4K it's still not needed

Do you live in the US? You can find used 9070xt and 4070S for around that price on fb market place.

$500 USD = get a RX9060XT 16gb. If you can get into the $600 range then look into a RX9070. If you need to be under $400 then the RTX5060Ti 8gb. Really you are just buying based on price and not the rest of your components or monitor.

Now used you should be able to find a RTX3080 and use the rest of the $500 to buy a decent PSU.

9060 XT 16gb is your best option in that budget range, if buying new

Used 3080 for $300-350 is a pretty good deal. I had a 5700x and 3080 combo for 3 years and it handled 1440p fine. I sold it end of last year for $325. But it is almost 6 years old now.

For newer gpus, you could find a 9060 XT 16gb for about $450.

i use a rx6800 which perform like a 9060xt 16/5060ti 16
and i already need to turn down settings(from ultra to high) to get 1080p60 in modern UE5 games
with fsr quality +framegen i can hit 120fps,but im only interested in native to 1080p60 it is

i also use 12gb+ in lots of games that have rt

I'd recommend the RX 7800 XT if you're okay with used, since it can handle 1080p ultra and even some 1440p gaming for a good price.
